Any noticeable differences between the 3? At $70 for tethrd and trophyline, wild edge seems the better price point at $40

The wild edge for $40 is rope only. The other two for $70 have a friction hitch and carabiner. Wild edge also has one set up like that for $80.

But if I’m going to be using a mechanical ascender am I correct in thinking I would only need the rope and not the friction hitch/carabiner?

I just ordered 22' of Resc Tech 8mm rope for EWO that I'm going to make a tether and linesman rope from. Think the total came to about $40

TL and Tethrd's have hand spliced eyes (with bury). Wild Edge is a sewn splice because sterling does not recommend splicing oplux. They are all great ropes.

If you can get the Resc Tech sewn-eye version from doublesteps.com, I would recommend that over Oplux. Although, you virtually cannot physically tell the difference, Resc Tech will handle moisture better.

Ended up going with the wild edge tether and 6mm sewn eye to eye from EWO and a tender from Genesis 3D

I thought the Oplux would be more water resistant having a larger percentage of a polypropylene inner core.

Was looking at this too, is the difference in packability worth $140? I currently have 11mm Tethrd ropes and they take up considerable space in my sys haulers

you might be right. I have one of those sewn eyes from ewo. got it a little damp and my distel hitch stopped holding.

I know Oplux gets soaked and retains the water for a while... I cannot comment on the abilities of the two ropes, when wet, with friction hitches, yet, as I primarily used the CT Rollnlock as my device vs. a friction hitch. However, Teufelberger directly advertises the Resc Tech to not absorb water because of its blended core. I guess I will find out first hand in a few weeks! That being said, I never had an issue with Oplux. I used Resc Tech for my bridge because I was trying to use a rope that absorbed and held less water during use.

First hand experience always trumps "supposed" benefits lol.
