Thermacell question

The multi insect pads arrived today and here's a couple observations...
The active ingredient is different than my older mosquito repellent pads...not sure if that will make a difference in how well the multi pads repel skeeters.
And these pads have an expiration date on them (03/2026). There are lots of products in our modern lives in which they put expiration dates on and I think it's often just BS in order to get people to buy more product.
