Tool Roll Clone

Made two of these tool rolls for Xmas gifts this year. Copied an Atlas46 design. Each pouch is removable and the roll itself has a pocket in the top. The one I copied had a wrench roll incorporated onto the backside but the layout didn’t seem to work great for what I would want and I ran out of time so I didn’t do that part. Everything is 1000D cordura, triple stitched, hopefully it will hold up to what they put them through.

The zippers are a little mismatched, I ran out of pulls halfway through and then when I ordered more pulls I didn’t realize I ordered “reverse pulls”. Luckily I had just enough zippercoil that worked and squeaked it out.

Really cool stuff. How are the individual pouches held in place/removable, Velcro? snaps? Or loose but held down by the strap?

Each pouch has Velcro the entire length. The Velcro is bar tacked on every 3.25”. The Velcro on the roll itself is bar tacked the same way. This leaves a space between the bar tacks that another piece of strap with hook on one side and loop on the other can wrap around both and lock into place together. Kind of hard to explain. If you go to Atlas46 website and look at one of the removable beast roll you can see it. I should have taken more pictures. This is the locking wrap, it has a grosgrain loop to grab and release it from behind the pouch.
