Tree tether "keeper".

I have a tight eye that I run around the tree and put a biners in the eye and on the other part of the line I put the Prussic and then run the biner through the eyes on the prussic (an eye to eye spliced cord). This allows me to push the prussic towards the tree and snug everything up so when the strain is put on the rope by my body weight the prussic cinches down and keeps everything tight. When I get a chance I will try and post a pic to show this.

And no chance of cross loading the biner. A picture would be great

You would be applying force along the axis of the biners but a rapide could be used also

Nice climb line! I've never used Cougar but have heard a lot of good stuff about it.

That is my lanyard I used for demonstration purposes and the rope is Blaze. Looks a lot like Cougar.

This is the setup I use when ascending and when at my final hunting height. When I get ready to descend I remove the prussic and attach a micro pulley and it makes retrieval very easy. Perhaps I will take some pics and show what I mean.

I get my eye to eye spliced from Treestuff and this one is I believe an Oceans 8mm. Rule is smaller a the rope use smaller diameter hitch cord. This one is I believe a 28" but will check and let you know.

Could you show us how you attach the micro pulley. I am no expert but would a CT roll and lock safely replace the prussic and then just switch it to pulley mode. I am not sure if that is a good idea to replace the prussic that way but I am sure it could act as a pulley.

I have used a microcender in the past but it requires a different hookup. I believe in this application a prussic is hard to beat and it is one less metal thing to contend with.

I just wondered because with a cT roll and lock you would not have to change to a pulley when descending... how did you use a mico ascender in the past.
