Has anyone tried these and recommend them or something like them? My Keens died after just 3 seasons and I am leaning toward an all leather boot like this one for more durability. Plantar fasciitis is a major issue for me, so comfort and support for that trumps all other factors.

Hey John,
I’ve got a pair that is in the rotation. They are fine. I treat them regularly with Obehhauf’s heavy duty leather preservative and haven’t had any leaks. Going on about 5 years. I’m still searching for good, all leather inline boots, though.

Thanks! Outdoor Supply in Hickory carries them, but did not have any sizes that fit me yesterday. Same thing for the Saloman Quest 4D 3 GTX and Hoka Tor Ultra Hi 2. They are supposed to get all of them in soon, so I am going to try them all before I buy. Likely will get the Vasques and one of the other two.

Cool. I would like to try an all leather pair without a waterproof barrier, because once that barrier is compromised (they are all pretty much glued in and will eventually leak) the boots are toast.
My thought is that good leather boots with the sole properly sewn to the boot will always be waterproof if proper maintenance is followed. I would love to try a pair from Russell Moccasin Company, but I can’t make myself spend $400+ on boots that might not fit.

Have both these and the Quest 4Ds, broke both in on Colorado elk trips. I bought the Vasques in the size I usually wear, but for some reason the shape rubbed on my smaller toes, especially hiking downhill. if I had bought a half size larger this may have been avoided, but there is something to the shape of the outside of the boot that’s a bit different, maybe not great for wider feet. I’ve had the Vasques since 2014 and still wear them occasionally, just not for high mileage. I’ve had Quest 4Ds since 2017, I love almost everything about them. Except in long term wet situations eventually your feet are going to get wet, they sent me a second pair, same true for those as well. I’ve heard Keens have better waterproofing than gore tex.
