Webbing for Bridge?

Been tinkering with my kestrel lately...

Anyone running tubular webbing as a bridge? I have a bunch of 1" and it's rated for 2200lbs breaking strength. I was thinking of stitching loop ends for a fixed bridge. Thoughts?

I know there are some other sling/webbing materials people are using. What are some of the other materials people are using for their bridge? Webbing? Amsteel? Thinner DIA climbing rope? Also how are you tying/which knot to use?

I do. Changed mine out on my kestrel pretty quick and like it. No bulk no knots in my hips and light. Have not tried amsteel but no real reason to. Easy to adjust the length with the water knot. Slides smoothly in the carabiner

Felt compelled to share these, for anyone else who was interested in this:

I originally had no intention of messing with the stock kestrel setup, but the potential to remove some bulk by switching to a webbing bridge quickly appealed to me. I have a water knot on each end of mine now, but still use the carabiner on one end to be able to disconnect it without having to retie a knot.

Now I need to figure out a good length and options for the back support. I tied some paracord prussics on it to mimic how it hooks to the rope bridge, though those seem pretty noisy sliding on the webbing and I don't particularly like the fold they introduce.

I’m attacking my lineman’s belt next. I am thinking a steel lineman’s belt. If I can go that route I may keep my bridge caribiner.

What problem are you trying to address with the lineman's belt? I had become so accustomed to the 2" webbing belts that come with an HSS-style harness that I've been blown away with how much easier a rope is to use, especially with the addition of a ropeman. So I'm ok with the bulk there.

Primarily bulk. I am using 11mm Yale bandit and it’s quite bulky.

I use a sitdrag with webbing for the bridge. I tied water knots to attach it.
