7/64 is rated at 1600 pounds. I'm not sure how much the whoopie sling would be rated at. I use 7/64 for my hammocks and it holds my 215 pounds. 18 inches off of the ground though is different than 20 feet plus.

West marine has 7/64 amsteel on sale for .21 a foot. Be cheaper to buy and make slings your self. I can get enough to my buddies and mine for $11
