Would you hunt a fence line near this field?

This field borders some public land, mostly pines, and on the private land there’s an old run down elevated blind facing the field.

There’s a part of the fence cut away, and it looks to be matted down by wildlife traffic, however the pine needles make it impossible to detect foot prints.

Only scat I found was peppercorn sized near the makeshift blind.

Got a trail camera? Sounds like you found a good spot to at least place a camera to see what's using the trail. Your brief description sounds like it does have some potential.

Deer are lazy, broken or low fence areas will be increased crossing points. Throw a camera up. Not unlikely that the public gets hunted near your fields, but some public is only open certain days, etc. It’s at least worth looking into

Also, if you are having trouble getting anything on that trail, you can always put a camera on the whole field and put it on time lapse. That way you can see what's using the whole field and where they are entering/exiting. I just finally got around to trying this function on my camera and it was awesome! Just had to look through about 3000 pics, but it's pretty easy to move fast until you see movement/deer on the pics.

You have to determine to time of day it gets used before you determine if you can hunt it.
It may be end-of-day (or night time) use.
SOMETIMES, being just another 75 or 100 yards back off the edge will give you more daylight encounters.

I hunt there often. Old neighbor built the blind
