XOP Climber seat as climber and platform?

more angles of how I have this put together. The 2.5" plate really fits snug in the top rear grate of the xop climber top, may be different on a LW

I'm probably gonna try it too. Looks like they might be sold out on xop website. I could always sell it I'm sure if I don't like it

So you need something for your feet while climbing. But some are also using a strap to keep the platform solid?
I'm not sure what the xop website showed when you looked. Right now it appears to be out of stock but I emailed them and they are only out of complete climbing stands as a set they have the tops in stock. I ordered the climber top today.

Grade 8 bolts/nuts and lonewolf hardware

that's what I made everything out of using a sawzall to cut everything as best I could, belt sander to clean it up and a drill press

I am still having difficulty adjusting the platform as I climb. I have to take my feet out of the straps and pull it up adj and get back on, strap back down. could you do a demo some time?

Thanks

NOTE: I tried a friends Lone Wolf seat as a climber and found it adjusted much easier than mine did. I need to take mine apart and find out why it is so difficult to open and close the belt adjustment lever.

sd220, it looks to me like your photo's are NOT working anymore, is there a way you can repost for those of us that are trying to play catch up?

I just got an XOP hand climber and made my first couple climbing attempts before finding this thread, lol, it was a blast, I didn't get very high and had a hard time getting the platform set and it would occasionally slip, but hey I got to test out my tether and prusik!

I don't see the Hand Climber available on the XOP website. Is there an advantage of the XOP over the Lone Wolf?

The hand climber top piece is available on their website in the replacement parts section but the whole climber stand isn't available right now.

Be best I can tell XOP and Lone Wolf are the same stuff, the LW line seems to have a little better fit and finish.. I've heard XOP products come from China and LW are USA made

Sold Out at the moment.

Bummer, I must have gotten one of the last ones.. USPS delivered it Monday.. Sucks because you pay double for the LW brand

I see that. I'm sure they'll get more in soon. I can wait. I've got other methods to try.

For those of you that used them last season, were they still your preferred method of climbing or did you move away from it?

Any challenges or other tips that haven't been shared in this thread?

Thanks guys.

I use an old Loggy climber and you simply hug the tree and pull up the climber portion "old school" with your feet could this work with the saddle while simply using the linesman belt - New to saddle hunting - just ordered and got confirmation / shipping on a new Kestrel saddle and ordered the LW hand climber as I am familiar with climbing stands - Best part I se in this method is the limited set up time for each location and no evidence of anyone knowing you hunt in the location - A big concern in NY -

I would love to see more about this method in detail. If someone could find a way to reliably go around branches and to see how someone stabilizes it up in the tree .

It won't work with just a lineman's belt. You need to have a tether hooked up so you can put all your weight in the saddle when you are raising up your feet. You may be able to make something like the buckingham tree squeeze work though, I'm not sure.
