Xop platform question from rookie

I bought an xop platform and have a question... On top of the post (like most platforms I've seen) is a small flat spot. Is this for securing it to the tree or putting one foot on it and the other foot on the platform while shooting? Or both? Help me out please because I have not found any, literally, any videos of a saddle platform design and how to use it... Just diy or mods or reviews.

Strap it to the tree, cam it over, pull it back up (usually with your toe), step down hard on the top of post to resrt it and then cam it over again. It should be extremely tight to the tree.

Then use it for a foot rest, push off point or as needed.

Enjoy!

Ditto…

There’s no right or wrong way to “use it” once you’ve got it set solid to the tree. Push off it for the shot if it helps or rest your foot against the post when leaning if you want. The best thing is to set it up close to the ground and just play with it and shoot from it till your comfortable. Just be sure to cam it in like Phopkins said.
