Treesuit build

Not familiar with the woopie sling/ can you explain and maybe post pictures of your mods?

It wont let me most them from my phone i might have to wait until i get back to work to post them maybe from computer! Not sure why it says file is to big!

Here are some pictures of my mods! I wanted to splice my own eyes in the sampson predator rope but I could not do it with this rope I must say it is very hard rope to splice!!

Think I'm going to add another section of mollie loops and get a second pouch also! I still have another treesuit that is unmodded and unless this blows it out of water will probably always stay that way! I have still not climbed a tree yet with it but will this weekend when it warms up! I will give a good review after that!

Could you take a picture of the back side of it and show how the black strap is attached?
Thanks

I wont be home for a few days to take more pictures! The linesman loops are created by a making a big loop of webbing and then sewing that directly to the green belt that goes through the tree suit with lots and lots of stitching!! I cant acually pull that belt out though I sewed it right in to suit just in a couple spots just a few stitches though just wanted to keep it from sliding one way or another so that the linesmans loops stayed where i wanted them!! the pouch hooks my Mollie straps to a second black strap that is sewn onto the fabric of the actual tree suit fabric! Thing that cracks me up is I put like 200 plus dollars into modding what I think I payed maybe 60 bucks for back in 2000-2002 that acually in my mind worked very well in itself but I do believe I will prob never regret what I have done!

Thats ok, I can't do anything to mine at the time anyway. Where did you get the green belt from?
Grits

Nice work! I cut the stitching on the fabric that holds the board and I’m going to fasten a piece of 5/8” wool rug pad to add a little comfort. I don’t have much padding on the backside. Should help on cold days too. That stuff makes good insoles when it gets cold too.

I have thought of adding a little cushion also that and I want to make a stand off in the middle to hold myself farther from the tree while sitting I dont sit very often but when I do I know this Mod would make all the difference!

Is the black strap with the rope on it sewn into the Treesuit, and what is it used for ?

That is the waist strap that goes though the upper section of the suit. the black rope that has a whoopie sling like adjustment is the safety strap and linemans belt. It works fine stock as both when you get used to having only 1 attachment point--you just have to rock your hips a little more to clear steps. I actually liek the simplicity of the whole thing be all inclusive and not having to carry any other extra ropes and pieces.

No that is not the waist belt that is the nylon strap that was originally on the tree suit my GEN 1 treesuit had ropes that went from that strap to the tree as you can see in my profile picture so i undid the ropes and that is what i conected my new amsteel bridge to. The strap is one piece that has loops on both ends that goes through the fabric and weaves through the plastic seat that is inside the fabric.

I'm sorry if I have confused everybody, but I am talking about the black strap that is underneath the treesuit in the 5th picture you posted earlier. I'm not clear on if it is sewn into the suit or not. My Treesuit has the really long black 2 inch nylon strap that use's the double D-ring to attach to the tree that is sewn in. Once again I'm sorry for the confusion, I'm trying to learn if I could do this type of modification, I'm not a very good visual learner, usually do better if some one shows me how and I know that is not possible when I live in Texas and you are in Mn. I guess I would almost have to have a picture by picture of the way you did your mods.

No worries! So the gen 1 suits had rope coming off of the seat instead of the straps and short d ring strap. To do the mod, you would have to cut the black strap currently under the seat of yours- one side is really long, the other has the buckle on it- and sew a loop to add the rings to, then bridge.
