@BackSpasm got the discussion rolling on DIY dump pouches.
I quick put one together with scraps for demo purposes. Here is one I came up with that is pretty simple.
Dimensions can be adjusted to your liking. These were rough guesses to get me going.
Next time, I will probably add an inch or two to the height of the material to make the pouch a little deeper.
The gray lines in the masterpiece above are folds and the center. I started by folding in and sewing the corners. This cleans up the edges of the shock cord channel.
The folded over the top approx. 1/2 inch and sewed across.
Next, Fold the top over 1 inch and sew along the bottom edge. This creates your cord channel
Next flip over and find the center of one side. Determine your preferred height of connection. I went around 1" below the stitching of my cord channel.
This is the location of you webbing. Roughly shown on the first drawing above. Here is how I have been doing mine. I like it because it does restrict swinging some. Not as much as connecting to 2 rows of molle webbing. But better than it simple hanging from the webbing. Here's how I lay it out:
I add the snaps before stitching the webbing on. I use these:
