Treesuit build

I have thought of adding a little cushion also that and I want to make a stand off in the middle to hold myself farther from the tree while sitting I dont sit very often but when I do I know this Mod would make all the difference!

What I miss about the Treesuit was being able to sit and keep the boys comfortable. I hate sitting side saddle in the kestrel when my legs need a break.

Thnaks Vtbow that helps clear things up for me.. What do I need to use to sew the loops on the black strap?

Here are some pictures of my mods! I wanted to splice my own eyes in the sampson predator rope but I could not do it with this rope I must say it is very hard rope to splice!!

Not sure if I'm wrong on this, but it looks like the only thing holding you in if something happens once you are tethered in at hunting height is the fabric? Is there anything else attaching the black webbing to the green webbing? Just a little concerning to me.

The seat is a solid piece covered in fabric with the black webbing running through the solid board - if I remember correctly.

From the pics that Vtbow linked to the black seat strap looks long enough to simply snap into a carabiner on a rope tether and serve as a bridge. If you didn't want to sew loops. I don't know the pros or cons of this.

I think the buckle would be right in the way unfortunately. ..

I cut the black straps on my treesuit way back and sewed both ends together to make a bridge. I now use a tether and carabiner with my treesuit.

Mine was a GEN 1 that had ropes to the tree not straps so the black strap you see is what there was the ropes connected to the loops that are sewn into end of strap it is weaved through the plastic seat so i guess the newer ones wont be as easy to MOD!

That's what I'm thinking too hangloosehogs. I wasincorrect insaying my treesuit was a genaration 1, mine has the black straps and not the ropes. I didn't know that the fist ones had the ropes. I think I will probably leave mine as is, it"s worked fine for years and I'm not sure that I could do any of the mods without completely destroying it.

I am in love with my new modded TreeSuit it is everything i imagined it would be!! I am also using modded heliums as my way up the tree they are 18in long with a 20in amsteel loop hooked to the bottom step with versa buttons and amsteel daisy chains! I use 4 screw in steps for my platform still I have tried a couple other options but went back to steps for a few reasons.

How much would you charge to mod one of my Treesuit saddle's out like yours????

I'm not even sure how much I have into the full set up I know it wasnt that cheap but Im guessing you have all the components for the teather and linesmans belt seeing your list of saddles?! Do you have the first Gen with the ropes or the second with the straps?

I have two Tree Suits, they both have ropes that connect to straps which run through the suit itself. Didn't realize they made an all strap version?? Don't worry about it though I'll probably just try to do it myself sometime. The treesuit is pretty comfortable inmy opinion and you don't need kneepads because of the Point on the apex of the seat platform. Really its the first hybrid of its time IMHO.

Ya i actually use a but cushion that has a strap on it and put it right on the tree to put my knees against im more of a leaner than sitter most the time i dont use it but I can not stand using knee pads they are just so uncomfortable to walk in with and bulky to carry in! I have been thinking about doing another MOD and extending the bump at the front of the treesuit so it sticks out a little more and holds me farther from the tree. Woodsdog2 what is your favorite saddle that you have seeing how you pretty much them all? Last night I added a second SYS hauler to the other side.

I like them all I just got the Tactisaddle in and I'm hoping to use that soon too. So far I like it. The Mantis seems like the lightest but the Flex and the Tactisaddle have more robust waist straps which I like better personally. The narrow waist strap of the Mantis can tend to ride down on me but it is soft and tough. I can't say which one is better or not as I like aspects of them all. The Tactisaddle is very well made and robust but still very light IMO. It also has the feature where you can slide the "bottom" strap up to walk with it (you don't even feel it) and then adjust at hunting height for comfort. That is a super neat feature. The Flex is very well made too but the sling material is not as quiet as I would like. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them but just know and understand the nuances of each of them. As I get more time in my newer saddles I'll keep you posted. I can say they are all more compact than the treesuit!!!! Nice mod btw..

Thanks!! I have tried a buddys mantis yes its lighter and more compact but there is something about the solid base that i really like! The way i have it rigged up now is way more user friendly than stock and how i store it while wearing in i just flip it up against my back and put the bridge behind my neck! One of these days maybe i can get the wife to take a couple pics! I think if i was to buy another one it would be the tactisaddle! Im not chasing light weight but more user friendly! I do know with the treesuit i never have had hip pinch once!
