Where the skys are so blue!
Looking to get 3 of them. PayPal ready. Prefer modded to 20-24" with versa button. If I can get them by Thursday, I'll be your best friend.

Edit: if ya have LWCG minis, I may take those off ya hands too.

I've got 3 modded ones I might sell, I cant remember the length but think it's either 20 or 22 inch step. Dont know that they'd be there by Thursday though...

Heliums you say?

I have a set of 3 24" 2019 Heliums that I just used last night with my JX3. Honestly they didn't work as well as I hoped. They kinda pack in between the seat and back, but not well. Using the aider to get to 20' wasn't my favorite either. My 4 DIYs have made me lazy & risk averse I guess. They don't pack any better with the fixed double step and offset stacking. Those Beast sticks sure pack nice and flush with the JX3!

If you don't mind me asking, why not just use your Squirrel Step climbing method? You've got me wanting to invest in a set pretty bad as those will pack nicely in between the JX3 components.

Laziness. Maximum laziness. Sticks (I think) will pack fine on the jx3. I want a setup to use when I'm dog-tired and lacking in willpower. Like I was Sunday. Barely 10 hours of sleep between the previous 3 nights, and lots of walking up and down hills. The jx3 was the only thing that kept me in the woods.

I hear ya. The JX3 is money when it comes to comfort for sure.

I went back to my Kite/Podium setup for a couple weeks to give it another comparison, then went JX3 last night. Its really not a contest. I like both but the Hybrid is just so amazing to sit in.

I keep saying it but I really think I gotta just go all in with it. Gun season is fast approaching and that will probably seal the deal for me.

Just gotta decide if the weight savings of 1-stick/rappel is worth the effort, or if extreme simplicity is worth the weight penalty of sticks. If sticks then is it my DIYs which are a bit awkward to pack or do I spring for Beasts on the next run? LWCG minis probably would pack in there nicely, but I don't think that's a direction I want to go for a variety of reasons. Or I go with your squirrel step approach.

Too many options.

Anyway, if you haven't already found Heliums to buy. I may need to sell mine to fund whichever way I go next!

Beast sticks pack perfectly with the JX-3. The stand offs are almost the exact width of the JX-3 so you can fit them real snug and the stay silent. I've also used full size lone wolf sticks and packed them vertically with the leg straps criss crossed. That works pretty well too. If you have modded sticks shorter than the beast sticks, you can probably still pack them horizontally, you'll just have to flip them around because there wont be enough space between the stand offs.
