The hunting public blurred saddle????

What Tether'd HAS done that NOONE else has - was to offer the Saddle hunting industry a complete package deal - you can get everything from them to be saddle hunting and they are bringing forth products new, lighter and better product for Saddle Hunters. Sure a lot of jumping into the mix now (and again) but Tether'd was the one that really opened up the market for the current popularity (Aerohunter was out there for several years and did little to promote the new growth). And a lot of that was due to Social media and the sites some of their founders created (G2, Flingarois, etc.) They were ALL involved in the multiple DIYs here on this site - NO other company can make that claim.

@Harder&Deeper The Mantis may have hit the market first but the Kite was in field testing before the first mantis was sewn. Trophyline made the first ever mesh saddle.
The predator is awesome. The assassin never caught on because it was 20 years too soon. Social media promoting saddle hunting has brought us into the main stream. Putting it in front of our faces everyday. Lets just not act like tethrd invented saddle hunting is all I am saying.

As for the picture, I am sure it is a prototype that is being field tested! Looks sweet for sure.

I'll respond to you, because at least you make sense. Lol.

The Mantis came out BEFORE the kite. It came out before trophyline too (I know I know the old saddles had mesh but they were heavy and sucked, the new one seems like it may be ok but the MANTIS is still lighter and more portable and adjustaboe) and the assassin it's true it came out first but it was HEAVY and never caught on.

Tethrd changed the way people hunt, and whatever they're cooking up now I'm sure will be awesome. Has to be if THP is using it.

If your profile birthdate is correct, I am going to simply write this off as youthful ignorance. That is not an insult to you, ignorance is not knowing any better. Stupidity is knowing better and saying it anyway. THP is just another example of well placed marketing, which Tethrd (Greg) has done a tremendous job by any standard. They did not and have not changed the way we hunt. Everything they are doing was available from either Aerohunter, recycled goods, or DIY options. All they did is add more commercial availability and then marketed the products expertly.

Puh-lease, dude! Tethrd made saddle hunting what it is. Never even herd of this tactasaddle thing. Why would the most successful saddle company of all time need to copy anybody??????

Nobody had even DREAMED of a platform to actually stand on, or a mesh saddle before TETHRD did it. Whatever they come up with. Itll be new and original like everything they do.

Uhhh mesh saddle? Trophyline? 2005? Ok

Tree suit had 2 platforms available. They even had "wings" too! one was a cable climber, also usable with a cam strap as a non-climber. one was a v-back climber.

Old trophyline mesh saddles were very comfy and light once you got rid of the unnecessary items. I’ll take that over a Mantis to be honest. I’ve been hunting out of a leather trophyline for quite sometime now. Picked up a kite yesterday....

I seen a episode the other day with Jake and Ted. It looked like Jakes saddle had brown mesh instead of the green, and had molle webbing running across the top and bottom straps instead of just the top like the original Mantis

It does look more ridged in this photo as well. See how it standing off of his back. My mantis would not do that

Not before AH was. Boswell brought it to saddlepalooza ... used it all season before tethrd was created.

And I will say that is not correct. They didn't just sit down one day and come up with Tether'd and throw a saddle together. people really need to stop with all the speculating and accusing of copying. There was a ton of Sit Drag modifying long before Aerohunter jumped into the hunting saddle market.... and we were discussing mesh sit drags far before Aerohunter decided to finally listen to some actual hunter feedback.

I never said they copied anything.

It was mentioned above and in several posts. Tehter'd guys are smart enough on their own to come up with new ideas and they are ALL hunters not arborists.

Only in our community will dozens of grown men gather to scrutinize the rear of a bent over man.

Where is anyone accusing tethrd of copying to design the mantis? I just see people pointing out that it isn't really a first-in-kind product outside of marketing. That's accurate.

The result is clearly designed by avid saddle hunters based on their experiences with and exposure to a wide range of commercial products, their own DIY, and the DIY of others. It's a fine product if you share their preferences and fit, but the only 100% gamechanging product from tethrd is their marketing and promotion. The predator is close (and clearly meaningfully different from its predecessors.

Not sure who these folks are? my guess they are all probably members of Butt Cuppers anonymous group :)

Well for those that have been around long enough Bobby Boswell started this when Tether'd released their saddle first (He made a lot of public accusations and was why he left). It is brought up many times since and now in more subdued terms like Aerohunter was first before mantis sewed their first saddle. None of which is true.

I seriously doubt the guys at Tether'd need to copy anyone
Under normal circumstances, I’d say using the word ‘copy’ was wrong in my case. It would imply that they knew tactisaddle made their loops that way, thought it was better, then did it the same way. I’m not in their head. They could totally have decided to do it that way on their own, without being aware of what’s on the market.

Attempting to patent ‘wings’ on a platform, then sending cease and desist to anyone making wings on their platform, however, gives the impression they’re well aware of the goings on in the market. Would’ve probably been a better idea to go back and make sure there never was a commercially available platform with wings before making those moves, but it happens sometimes.

I flippantly used the word ‘Copy’ with no intention. But since it was taken as such, I’m happy to defend it. I’m 100% confident Tethrd knew of and about the tactisaddle, and are still making lineman’s loops on this new thing that not only look the same as tactisaddle loops, they function in concept and reality the same way. This is conjecture at this point since we don’t know if it will ever make it to market as such. But if it’s a prototype, and then goes that far, the logic applies.

What I should have said was ‘that looks exactly like the tactisaddle lineman’s loops’. My bad.

You all think there is something they can do to help with there saddles riding up? Seems to be the main complaint. I can get comfortable enough in mine but I'm going to be trying something different for next season.
