How do I know if mine is Gen 1 ?
Scroll up... there’s a description of a Gen 1 and Gen 2 earlier in the thread
How do I know if mine is Gen 1 ?
Did you place a rubber cover on the bolt? I added stealth strip on the post but I like this idea.I used my Predator this last weekend and because of an irregularity in the tree, only half of the upper bracket made contact with the tree. It still locked up rock solid.

Three business days and my new standoff was in my mailbox. Very quick turnaround by Tethrd. Hopefully I just had a bad one before but gonna be a little more careful with the new one just in case.New standoff is on it’s way.
Oh, JFC.
Here we go.
Thank you for sharing. I’ll be watching, or just switch to my Lone Wolf batwing like I have been considering.
I am pretty sure that you want some play in the standoff so it can adjust to the tree.
Mine moves on its own. I am not sure but if the nut is a nylon nut, as long as the threads are past the nylon it wont come undone. I do not think you need to back it off. I never touched mineAre you saying some play between the standoff and the post? Does the bolt need to be checked to make sure its not on too tight?
Just curious, did they come assembled?Mine moves on its own. I am not sure but if the nut is a nylon nut, as long as the threads are past the nylon it wont come undone. I do not think you need to back it off. I never touched mine
I sold my gen 1 quite awhile ago & cant recall but the standoff appears to be cast aluminum as well. Is that correct?? If so that’s an easy remedy. Can’t think of any other mfrs that have a cast v bracket though.......
yes at least mine didJust curious, did they come assembled?
Interesting, you'd think torque specs would be standard then...yes at least mine did
I hear ya, 100%. Just curiosity on it all-Thinking being, if there are specific tolerances they used during their testing, they would need to be the same upon assembly for the delivered product.I think they probably are, but some users may see it move and think that cranking it down is a good idea. I am saying I do not "think" it is meant to be super tight. But that is just me thinking the give of the bracket is a good thing. I am in no way speaking for the company
Nothing like your predator breaking on my first afternoon of my 10 day trip
