Beautiful frosty morning here. A little action off and on, 5 does and an extremely vocal spike that has made a couple laps around this thicket . I here his grunts before he ever makes it into view. Got me all excited at first.

Been an eventful morning with pretty consistent movement 5 bucks within range but none make the cut. But all have been after the ladies but the ladies arnt having it.

Thick lingering fog finally lifted. Birds are singing and the squirrels slept in before scurrying around. Maybe the deer or hog are soon to follow. TY Lord for another day in the saddle!

Well... I mean comfortable enough to where I can finally hang for a several hour hunt without fidgeting and fiddling with this that and the other. Although i practiced a lot during the spring and summer, an hour in the backyard doesn't fully simulate being out for real. This is my first official season in a saddle. My I just need to seal the deal with my first saddle kill.

20min into my last morning sit with the twig and string before I start slinging lead next weekend and I’ve got one doe down within 50 yards.

Had a wallhanger come in from behind me passing on my weak side. Grunted him in twice but he hung up at 35yds. Rubs everywhere, Planning to meet him later. A great Connecticut morning so far...

9am. 38 degrees. West wind. Deer were bedded when I got there. Small buck and a doe didn't like my beard climbing a tree next to them? 11 am 3 does came bye...walking out of the thicket at 15 yards. I just knew a big buck was soon to follow.
Maybe another day.

Woke up to 23 deg. this morning. Had a buck chasing a doe circles around me but no shot. Had this little one walk up on me climbing this afternoon.
