Had a nice buck grunt a doe past me at 25 yards yesterday morning. Let him walk. Tempting but was about 125 inch 8 pt. I wasn’t in the saddle just on the ground so didn’t cost us any points. Haha. Happy hunting everyone.

Alright, I've had a slow season so far. Lots of downs so far. I've only been able to hunt one day a week between working full time nights and being a full time student in the mornings. The past 2 days I had to hunt I was fighting lower back pain so bad I couldn't get out of bed without help from my beautiful bride and greatest trophy of all. All that to say I'm back at 100% and ready to put some meat in the freezer. Hopefully get at chance at either Pancho or Lefty.

Seen my first bobcat last night at 40 yards. Jumping around on 3 legs pretty messed up. Put in for a bobcat tag this year but didn’t get drawn. Also had a shooter working a scrape 60 yards out headed my way but some does got spooky. I don’t think they could of smelled me so wondering if they were nervous cuz they smelled the bobcat had been through? He was a tank and an awesome experience watching him tear up that scrape on the hillside. Inching closer.

I've been hunting hard and not much to show for it. Had a couple close encounters with big bucks over the last couple weeks just haven't got it done. Going this evening hoping for some action.

Good luck this evening. You keep grinding it out and something good will happen. At least that’s what I’m telling myself ;)

I also built a platform to stand on. My feet can’t handle standing on the steps. I’m planning on setting all day tomorrow but hopefully I’m done by 8:30. 22 degrees tomorrow with a north wind.
Sounds fun. I need the 22 degree temps down here! Only 47 in the morning here, but I'll be sitting all day as well

Put Silvio on the Board...Iowa bound Iowa BBD. It's been realy a great experence here but public land hunting is extremely tuff. The hunting pressure on public land is alot like it is back home...anyway I was by myself two miles in and had a long nite getting this guy out. Hes a tuff old 4yr old I'd say look at his teeth ware.20191108_071754.jpg
