Actually, it was in my pack but my daughter was afraid of heights so i sat on the ground and killed her at 19 yards. There will be more God willing

According to the rules, I believe you can still enter her in the contest... you're so well known you don't need to have the saddle in the pic, we all know you used it is you say you did!

5. A photo of the hunter and saddle (either laying on the ground or on the hunter) with the full body of the deer is required to be posted in the official deer contest thread for submission. If you have 1000 posts or more you do not need to include the saddle in your photo, I will take your word on the honor system.

Here is the rule @DaveT1963. You are good to submit her. I guess all you need is a pic of her.

disregard this statement, just saw the post that you were on the ground.

We have a front coming through Thursday night and there is a 20 degree temperature drop on Friday. Needless to say, I am a little excited. I think a deer is going to hit the ground in Bama. Now I just have to pick my spot.

Honesty is the way to go here! We will make our way into contention as the rut heats up!

Rutcation starts tomorrow, it's time to get serious. I have off Friday and Monday for sure, then I have 5 or 6 more days to scatter over the next two weeks to hit the best weather.

I'm kinda hosed off we turn the clocks back Saturday, I thought we had another week yet. Some of my spots I have to wake up at 3 or 3:30. It tends to keep me away from those spots in favor of the ones I can sleep another hour. 4 AM is about where the I draw the line between dedicated and bat chit crazy.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow. Got two sweet public land spots to hit for morning and the mid-day to evening. It’s going to be cold and a North wind. I don’t want to jinx it, but something is going to die. I feel it in my bones.

No Rutcation in Bama for at least another month and a half though.

I wasn't the only one who thought tomorrow was going to be a good day. My morning spot was more of a short scout mission and I bugged out at 8:30. I had to drive about an hour to my mid-morning-evening spot. When I arrived at 10:30 to my mid-morning thru afternoon spot I was going to kayak in to, some guy had just put in to go that direction. Missed it by 15-20 min. I am regretting stopping to get that Bojangles biscuit. I was sitting in my truck trying to figure out my next spot to go to and I look up and two deer were crossing the road (one was a 6-8 point buck other a spike). After they entered the woods I grabbed my bow and tried to cut them off but never saw them. I bugged out and went to spot B which I was pretty excited about too. Arrived about 11:30 and a truck was there too. So I ended up going to a new place to scout/hunt my way in. I followed some OK sign (one set of very fresh buck tracks) as far as I thought I could without going too far and got set up. About 5:20 three deer, two of which were bucks came out of the swamp about 75 yds ahead of me. They never turned my way. It was close, pretty good for going in blind. I always struggle with how far is too far following sign. I didn't connect but I was close. Good learning experience. Another cold front is coming through next Friday and I'll try again.

Yeah pretty much every spot that had a parking lot had a truck in it this morning on my way to work. Even parked on the side the road. The deer and the people seem to be on the move in Wisconsin.

I did some scouting this morning, found some great sign...a bunch of fresh rubs and scrapes, I'm going to set up on those tonight. I have to sit right next to the graveyard that's on my property:eek: Hoping nothing besides a deer shows up tonight!

Halloween was 2 days ago - I’m sure all the dead people are back in their graves by now!!

Good luck boys! Go get em.

Was out this morning and had a really nice 9 point about 300 yards from me for over an hour and a half hunting a buddy’s private farm. Dogging and chasing so the rut is in full swing in southern Wisconsin. Hopefully I’ll make it out as much as possible before the orange army makes their way to the public grounds.

Well guys filled my Ohio buck tag yesterday but it wasn’t from a saddle so no points for the team ...I’m headed to Kansas on Friday and will be saddle hunting all week out there.

3 more days for me, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Then a few days in rifle season, I guess. The last 4-5 days I've finally been seeing a few decent bucks, but it's been a comedy of errors. Had a really good one bust me drawing yesterday at first light. Friday I was at full draw on another, and accidentally bumped the trigger on my release.

my daughter has brain surgery this morning, so I'm out for a bit. good luck team 10
