I finally got to do a little test today and I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner. This one is a touch heavy at maybe 6 or 7 lbs, but I already plan to have one custom made that will be even smaller and lighter. It is still lighter than carrying sticks and a platform by a long shot. It is very easy and stable to climb with a saddle, just like using a two piece climber and is very quiet, if you don't fumble around in a big hurry. I wrapped it with vet tape after the test and will use it on a hunt this week. A simple strap around the tree at height will hold it tight for side pressure and the downward angle is more comfortable in the saddle. Just like an Anderson sling, sometimes the oldies are still goodies! @Mgaris here is another opportunity for your creativity!

You're a few years old on this bro. I been trying to get people to try this for 3 years now. Started building my own climbers to lighten them up.

I would have added to yours, but the thread didn't come up when I looked earlier due to how I had the search on Tapatalk. I used to use a tree lounge many moons ago and forgot how simple and easy the foot piece is to use. Kudos on yours!

I really like the idea but I feel like it limits you to just a straight tree.

True, you need semi-straight trees, but that is fine for where I hunt 95% of the time, so it is not an issue for me. As far as small limbs go, I will just cut them as I always have.

I will be doing some heavy tweaking on this concept in the off season. I want to build one much lighter and smaller, just right for the size trees I prefer. As others suggested, looking at adding pack straps and maybe an @Squirrels custom, removable pack for it. This really could become my sub 5 lb system, including saddle and tether.

What do you have in mind size wise? Very intriguing but as is that sucker looks awkward to carry through the brush.

This thing is easier to carry than any stick combo, and lighter.
I've carried mine 2 different ways.
Across my shoulder is my favorite. Screenshot_20191130-212036_Gallery.jpg
