So after a few years with a cross bow. I think since I am gonna switch to saddle hunting this fall I wanna get back into using my bow. It's 2009 Diamond Black Ice. I have never changed the string. I wanna set my self up to shoot "adult arrows". So if I'm gonna go back to square one. Probably a good time to do it.
On line I see a place called 60x strings. Curious is anyone here has tried it. Or am I better to just go to a shop and have them do it?

I just ordered some from Catfish Custom Strings.. haven’t read anything negative about them. 60x some love and some hate but personally never used them.

I put 60x threads on a friends bow this week. I’ve shot 60x in the past but prefer JBK now. Both quality options though.

You’re gonna need the shop to put them on regardless of string choice unless you own a press.

Just got a full string/cable set in the mail today from Mike at Catfish Customs. Never seen better! Hope they work as good as they look. I expect them to. Definitely a good company to do business with.

I think there are many great bow string companies out there! If you are into the little guy, I like Stage 1 or Wicked Threads both out of PA.

Lot of good manufacturers out there. I've used 60x and Winners Choice and been happy with both. Also...they're really not that hard to build yourself if you're into that kinda thing. Start with a Flemish string for a trad bow and go from there.

First string is the best I’ve tried

Many colors
No stretch
No peep rotation
And they have a badass D-Loop material that will not wear. I used mine a ton for a little hole year and not a single fray.

JBK, twisted x, or Catfish. Worst string I have ever had was a 60X, serving started coming off after 100 shots, could never get the peep to stop rotating 1/4 turn, and when I called they said sorry it happens...……..and nothing. Might have just gotten them on a bad day but they lost me.

I have been using Johns Custom Archery for my strings for many years.

I had some pretty bad ones in the past from 60x, Proline and JBK just couldn’t get the specs right. I never liked the twist rate on ABB. Twice as many twists as others...
