I had a badlands superday pack and I liked the features with the exception of the hip belt. Maybe it didn’t fit my short frame well? Or maybe I just don’t carry enough wait for it to matter at all.

I need a new pack, one that will hold a predator platform inside and I can strap my sticks outside. Maybe a total size of 1500-2000 max.

suggestions?

I have an Eberlestock X2 that carries 4 cut helium sticks and a predator platform. I like it a lot. $150 on black Friday sale at optics planet.

I forgot to add that the picture has my coat wadded up in the pack as well.

Are you sure you're ready for a trip down this rabbit hole?

Ever since I started saddle hunting, I've bought and sold more packs than i care to admit. I think I might find a real life unicorn before I find the perfect saddle hunting pack. I cannot recommend a specific pack, but I have been more than happy with Horn Hunter, Badlands, and Alps as companies to buy packs from. Perhaps start there and poke around their sites a little? Good luck, and please keep us posted on what you choose and why.

Hill People Gear has a Connor pack that will carry sticks and hold a predator inside. The new one is up there, but their previous version can be bought for $150 or less.

Check out Slumberjack carbine 2500, it’ll do what your looking for. I’ve had mine for 4 seasons now it’s held up to my abuse. I use it to pack out deboned whitetails too.

Mystery Ranch 2 day assault. It has a laptop sleeve inside the pack that just so happens to fit the predator platform in it perfectly. Can strap sticks to it and it has mollie loops galore. Excellent internal layout with 3 way zipper you open it all the way if needed.

Do you know if the ambush will fit in there?

Have you seen this yet?

Supposed to retail for $140. Which is reasonable compared to other packs. Looks like it addresses a lot of issues people have with packs available now. But it looks similar in size to the Horn Hunter G3 I had and it was a bit bulky IMO. I think most people that aren't filming can get away with less gear than those guys.

Just don't know how comfy that will be loaded up with all the gear it claims to carry with just a webbing belt for support. I think it has a framesheet of some sort, but all the weight will ultimately be on your shoulders.

Does anyone know anything different about the weight distribution of this pack?

Seems pretty lightweight and full of handy pockets

May have to check it out

Another vote for the Eberlestock X2. I got mine for around $150 on sale around 10 years ago and have been very happy with it. Tough to beat in that price range.

I put my sticks on the sides in the wings and attach my lone wolf platform using the compression straps. Plenty of pockets for other gear.

On the advice of enkriss I bought the mystery ranch 2 day assault, I like it, my predator platform fits in the laptop sleeve perfect, fits my long torso good too, the only complaint I have is the noisey fabric, I knew that would be the trade off for getting a quality non hunting pack, but to me it’s woth it, I use spurs and this pack is exactly what I was looking for, I just need to come up with a solution to make it quieter from brush slapping and things, I mite have somebody make a fleece cover or something for it.
