Latitude Outdoors Method Saddle

Take this battle belt talk to the other thread guys or I'll have to delete these posts! Wait, I'm not a mod. Back to the Latitude Outdoors Method saddle - looks very legit and can't wait to get my hands on one. These are great guys and if @Aksisu11 is happy with them I'm sure they are good!

Thanks DanO! The saddle is an awesome one, and I’m super excited for the Latitude team.

Look what was dropped off today guys
Let me know if you got any questions about The Method!

All the saddle innovation and variations are like the car industry in 1910. I wonder who will win in this race.
It looks like many of the DIY saddles you guys have made, with a bit of the original aero hunter, a bit of the recon, sprinkled with wild edge/ DanO ropes, and of course the sit drag.
Plus we are the hype masters on saddlehunter.com
Sold out is what is next on the agenda.
The covet in me says try one. You order first @Tom Karrow. Let me know if you fall to temptation.
We need a Canadian source for saddles. Zero competition here.

What is the vertical support skeleton?

I put one in the cart and they don’t ship to Canada yet. I was curious so I put it in the cart to find out.

They need to get a @MADhunts review. I concur with most of his reviews. Then I don’t waste any money or order it immediately. I am getting more content with the saddles I have because of the exceptional comfort but it is fun to try the latest and greatest. John Eberhardts saddle is next.

Looks like elastic?

I'm not sure it is elastic. I'm thinking it is just webbing but not certain. I'm thinking it is to prevent stretch and to keep the shape, like in the Wraptor. But I could be completely off based too.

Strategically placed webbing definitely adds structural integrity...I learned alot about that while making my climbing stirrups

It looks like a fancy recon in this picture

I like the secondary attachment area on the waist buckle. Could you repel off that?

I think that is exactly what I thought too but with some subtle differences that makes it unique. I'm very intrigued with it's design. I'm sure it will be very comfortable.

There are structural differences between the Method and Recon/Anderson Sling. The Method, like the Wraptor, is made as essentially two independent sections whereas in the Recon/Anderson the sections are interconnected. The straps for the Recon/Anderson are interconnected due to the fact that the top most strap (of the four) and the bottom most strap (of the four) are made from one strap, with the two intermost straps being made from one strap. This keeps everything balanced and connected structurally and makes the Sling self adjusting. Not something that can be done with two independent sections. As Bwanha has said repeatedly, the Anderson Sling did a lot of things right. The Recon just improved it. (While the Method may be sewn together like the strap setup for the Recon/Anderson, the bridgeloops essentially "disconnect" them from working together unlike the Recon/Anderson where the bridge attachments do not interfere with the sling straps).

With the bridge loops going from top to bottom it seems equal weight must be on the back and bottom. If you lean forward your bridge will slide up the loops, I think. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of reports of discomfort with this one, IMHO.

I trust @MADhunts reviews. They should give him one he has tried most of them

It doesn't appear that the top part is a "moveable" backband. I think it is designed to be around your waist and then you obviously sit on the bottom section. I think the "pull" will be mostly on the bottom section and not on the top section as you're thinking.

When I put my Wraptor-ish creation on in a similar manner, there isn't a pull on my back. That has a single point (metal) of attachment though and each section independently moves through it. This is different in that the bridge has a longer point of movement, which may or not be good. This is the area that has me intrigued.

Design wise I think this is closer to a tactisaddle with a bigger surface area for the seat and belt than some of the other saddles it’s being compared to.

I like the metal less option. This is honestly the first new design that makes me think about upgrading from my kestral

Looking at the high res images. Looks like you can replace the webbing waist belt with anything you want. Like Amsteel :grinning:. This makes sense as to how they can offer two different waist belt options. They get the saddle sewn and just slide in the webbing waist belt or the Oplux waist belt before shipping. Smart!

@Ontariofarmer my father forwarded me your comment, international shipping is now up and running as of about 30min because of you so thank you for catching that for us :)

Hey guys, I'm "Kevin Leach" on the "Our Team" page of our site, been on here for a couple years or so but haven't been able to contribute much lately simply due to lack of time. As you can see we've been busy and to add on top of that I'm getting married on July 25th and tore both both tendons on my right peck in a freak weight lifting accident back in February...between surgery, COVID, our wedding, and now this, 2020 has been one crazy year thus far. On a positive note I was able to start shooting my bow again just last weekend and we finally have our site launched so things are on the up and up.

We're getting a tone of questions and inquiries right now, a lot of which we'll be addressing with some videos in the next couple weeks to give you guys a more detailed look at how the products function and the way in which we've been using them. Austin will be helping us get to some of that here quicker as well. If you have any questions I'll be trying to monitoring my messages on here a bit more in the short term, but probably the quickest way to get a response will be through an email using the "Contact Us" page on the site, all three of us are monitoring that mailbox so we can get back to you quicker. We will also have a customer service phone number and such coming in the next week or so to make it easier to reach us direct and we sincerely appreciate your patience until that's in place.

Last but not least, I just want to say that this forum I believe continues to be the best source of saddle hunting knowledge on the net, we not only appreciate all of your feedback but I want to emphasize that my post here is not meant to try to advertise our products. We will be fully respecting the vendor rules of the site because they are in place to help keep what made this site so great in the first place. If you do choose to support us in any fashion, know that your money is supporting our Michigan based manufacturer who was hit just as hard as anyone by COVID in recent months, they are great blue collar people that we are excited to showcase at some point here soon as well.

Thanks for reading and respecting the Vendor Rules @kmleach. In an effort to be consistent with those rules I have moved this thread to the Vendor Section.
