Making strings

I make my own continuous loop strings. I was using 8125g but found it gets fuzzy quick in my experience. I’ve since started using Brownell Rhino. By far my favorite material. I find it a bit more durable and I’m experiencing less stretch.

I make Flemish strings but have traded for a couple bows that had some real nice continuous loop strings. I will probably make a jig and give it a shot one of these days.

I use D97 and make both flemish and endless loops.

I enjoy making flemish strings more but either works just fine. You just need to have some twists in the endless strings or they can be harsh on the bow in my opinion.

I prefer bcy X and luckily Chad hooked me up with plenty of it when bcy stopped making it.

I’m gonna grab some 454x today to make some strings I have used EVERY string material that came out the past 25 years to make strings and liked a few but they discontinued some over the years which was a shame so I’m gonna try this material to see if it will replace my X or Rhino material

X99 is very similar to X just slightly smaller so need to add a few more strands for the same diameter string.

You can buy Rhino from Brownell. Just email them or call them.

I thought brownell went out of business either way I will prolly stick with x99 as they didn’t have 454 in stock

I used 8125 and g but went back to D97.
Still have enough for probly 6 strings.

My good friend (pen pal)has been using force 10 and really likes it.
I will be trying it.

Does anyone tried BCY mercury? It seems to be very similar to brownell rampage (ultra thin yet about 85# static resistance)

So, if a man wanted to make strings for people, possibly to sell, what would be THE string material to invest in? D97? FF Plus? 8125? Rhino? And what colors would be the most popular?

I'm asking for a friend

I make endless loop strings out of good old reliable D97. Haven't seen the need for anything else as all my bows are fastflight compatible.

Up-to-date UHMPE fibers give a real gain in term of noise and arrow speed

This is the video I learned from-great resource.

D97 here, flemish twist. Used a lot of different material, this one just twist up's and easier to work with for me.
