Anybody besides me wash their hunting clothes in Pine Sol? It has I believe 17% pine oil and its very strong. I use one or two cap-fulls in the wash, and hang dry my clothes outside if at all possible. I have said in other posts that scent control is a fantasy, and I do believe that. This is easy enough to do though, so why not? My hunting lands are full of pine trees everywhere, and many types at that.

That’s an interesting idea. My hunting partner wears lotion that has a cherry and almond scent. I cussed him first time we hunted together until I saw the deer literally scent checking his scent up to the tree he was sitting in.

I like the way I smell....
Seriously, ill never really know to be honest, I just thought since a lot of hunters are looking for yhat scent control edge, this is another tool in the arsenal...
I hunt the wind and rotate my stand sites religiously so, I can't offer results beyond pure speculation... but try it sometime. Just pine sol, hunting cloths, and air dry...see what you think. Just don't use too much...

What if you don't have a lot a pine trees... I like the idea. Seems like it could be a good mask. I wonder if a deer can sift through it all. Or maybe the smell of pine makes them think of Christmas trees and egg nog. Either way, would be interesting to test in a controlled environment.
Being a cleaner does it damage your fabric?

I remember back in the 80’s my dads friends putting splashes of vanilla extract on their boots or on some cotton balls that they’d clip on a tree limb & killing deer

I've never been sold that it smells exactly like the pines around here. Pine sol always had a chemical smell to me, but that's just me. All trees depending of were they are from has a little different aroma.
I wash mine in good ole baking soda and put them in my scent box with a block of cedar.

I think deer can sort anything out to be honest. This may just be another futile attempt to try to fool a nose that can't be fooled.

I agree. If I just use a couple caps full, my clothes smell like pine. If I use more, the aroma from my clothes actually burns my nostrils.. i don't get any chemical smell like was mentioned. I read this in a magazine years ago and decided to try it. I guess it's more for my benefit in the end.

I cant disagree with you at all. But over the years I've seen so many crazy attempts to cover human odor, I just thought I'd see if anyone was doing this.

I'm sure the deer can tell in the end. Ive been washing my hunting clothes in it exclusively for several years now with no fabric damage whatsoever. Again, I just use a couple caps full to begin with. I guess I just like the smell myself. The way I hunt, my only concern is laying down stink when I walk in and out.. not so much during the hunt

I dont pick up that chemical smell at all, not saying it isn't there, just saying I don't catch it. I kill my share of decent bucks, but I wasn't trying to give credit to this, just wondering if anyone else used it. I read it in a hunting mag years ago and decided to try it. I like it.
But I've long ago given up on using any type of gimmick to solve a scent problem. I belive its impossible. Im good friends with a prominent hound tracker here in Michigan. Hes done a lot to change my hunting habits more than anyone but Eberhart.
The dog and deer comparison is valid, with deer having a strong edge to boot. I truly belive nothing can fool them.

Agree. You'll never beat it 100%. Contain and limit is about all you can do.

Yes it does . A friend gave me some small bottles of it but I never used it. I may spray some on a Bush or tree in my back yard and setup a camera and see what happens.
