Your 2020 Gear Dump

Lets see what you got boys and girls. Post your set-up for this year so we can all second guess what we currently have....

Glad you started this. I was about to make one myself. Second guessing is always a huge problem of mine! Hah. I’ll take pics soon and post.

I'm gonna be running the lone wolf assassin, 4 LWCG double sticks attached with j hooks, no pack, and a kestrel flex for a saddle.

If/when my .5 stand arrives I may switch to saddle hunting out of that.

I am using Crusr saddle, lone wolf sticks, predator platform, eberlestock x2 to pack in and out. This is my first year saddle hunting but i have really enjoyed the practice this summer.

Saddle setup: Kestrel saddle with adjustable rope bridge , Treehopper ROS, LW sticks, or bolts and drill, Hammock chair modified with mil spec mesh for the seat for ground hunting.

Bow setup: Samick Sage 50# @28 recurve, Big Jim's 4 arrow quiver, Beman Centershot 30.25'' 400spine, 75 grain brass insert, 150 Magnus Stinger 2 blade BH, 3x4" shield cut Trueflight feathers, Neet shooting glove.

Saddle setup: Cruzr XC, Predator platform, Treehopper Hand Drill and bolts (occasionally 3 full-length Hawk Heliums), DIY paracord gear strap with S-biners
Bow setup: BowTech RPM 360, Medusa Max Drop Away Rest, Trophy Ridge 5-pin sight, Scott Archery Samurai caliper-style release, 300 spine Hunter XT's, Muzzy 3-blade fixed broadheads

Early Season:

Kestrel flex with suspenders, two large kifaru pouches, one fleece dano pouch for doyles, and oplux bridge, linemans and tether as well as 40' oplux rappel rope/long tether and safeguard.

Pop-up 28. Predator platform or Predator XL.
Tree climbing--primary is one sticking. Dano ultralight stick with 2 step aider. On weak side of predator will be shikar mini with straight scout and strong side I plan on bringing up my ultralight and placing it on the right left side.

secondary tree climbing: 75' of predator rope for my presets.

food/drink...100L of water, yeti thermos full of hot beef stew or other soup. Coffee thermos as well.

Mid to late season...the only thing that changes is my pack. I switch out to my Kifaru timberland pack and frame. Also bring out my HBS with the feet cut off and slits cut into the sides and zippers put in for my bridge.

Mine is in the signature. Battle belt and rappel gear are new for this season.

I hang it on my vest so my phone is right there. I often work from the saddle during season. Otherside has a gopro mount.

We rarely drop below 32. Isnt a problem here. I use this set up for when I dont plan to saddle hunt but want to be able to pop up a tree for a couple hours. All season.

Not all of this will be carried at once, but it’s all the options I have to choose from at the moment (of course this is always subject to change without notice). Without getting into the weeds too much hopefully, I have in random order:
-extra ties and climbing biner
-3 electric hand warmers
-several head lamps and flashlights (redundancies)
-GPS with pouch
-small pouch for milkweed
-hunting license and tag
-rappelling rope, climbing biner with kong quick link triangle, retrieval paracord and biner
-wicked tree pruners and baco Laplander saw
-grappling hook/claw on paracord
-3 gear hooks on webbing strap
-tether with climbing biner
-linesman’s belt with 2 biners
-two buckle straps for platform (one is an extra just in case)
-2 tree hopper steps with OCB strap
-metal bow hanger with strap
-mad rock safeguard
-kong hand ascender (just in case SRT is possible)
-Black Diamond single ATC (as back up to the safeguard)
-Vortex Diamondback HD 8x32 binos
-leupold RX1300i rangefinder
-bow strap
-Tethrd back band for the saddle
- (1st climbing choice) EWO Ultralight stick for one sticking with AmSteel one step aider
-(2nd climbing choice) WE set of 8 steps
-(3rd climbing choice) Hawk Helium short sticks
-foam pad for the knees
-H2 Saddle with Triad bridge
-Mossy Oak hunting day pack (can’t remember the actual name of it but love the pack)
-2x Scott wrist releases (in case one fails or is lost)
-OOAL Ridge Runner platform
-Tree Hopper Crotch Rocket platform (may not see a lot of use but it is still cool I think!)

Bow setup
-New Breed BX32 bow
-Trophy Ridge permanent mount quiver
-Trophy Ridge React H4 sight and HME sight cover
-QAD HDX drop away rest
-Trophy Ridge 6” stabilizer
-Gold Tip Velocity XT 400 arrows
-Rage Hypodermic mechanical broad heads
- “maybe” lumenock nocks

Like I said not carrying all of this at once but majority comes with me and believe it or not the whole pack usually only weighs about 8-9 pounds. It’s more if I take the WE steps or Heliums of course.

I’m very much considering trying one of the Trophyline Mission platforms but can’t decide if I want to spend the $ or not yet. Always subject to change here without notice :).
