Are Traegers worth it?

Ya I have replaced motherboard on it, the lid delaminated and replaced that, now I got bad rust/pitting on leg platform.

Traegers are made from very thin metal and are junk. I’ve had two and will never own another. I purchased a rectec rt 700 a couple of years ago and don’t see me owning another smoker for a long time. Build quality is far superior to the traegers.

Good lord, the Traegers must be pretty sorry because my Recteq has had serious issues since I have had it. I emailed them about all the rust but havent heard back in 3 weeks. Probably tired of having to send me parts.

I use my Ironwood 885 a few times a week. I bought it in April of this year. Once I fixed the lid leak with some BBQ felt gasket, all has been fine. It’s different that cooking with a gas grill, for sure, but I’m quite happy with it.

Try calling them. I had an infighter fail, and they sent me the upgraded ceramic one free of charge. What type of issues are you having if you don’t mind me asking? Might be able to help you out.

When I first got it (Tb340 day 1 release) the coil wouldnt heat up. They sent another one and still no dice. They then sent me a whole new mother board that was a PITA to install. Then the entire lid delaminated and you could see the fiber glass insulation during a big cook. They sent me a new one. Now, neither one of the 2 temp probes work and the stand/leg part that the barrel is attached to is rusting out bad. Metal is flaking off.

Wow sorry for your experience. I was under the impression they were all powder coated stainless steel as mine is. I’m not sure why they didn’t replace the whole grill. I believe they have a 6 year warranty.

Can't comment on the traeger grill/smoker itself, because I don't own one, but the traeger spices/seasonings/rubs sold at ACE hardware around me are amazing! We really like the fin and feather, the wild game, and the blackened.

The prime rib rub has become a staple for me. I add a skosh of their coffee rub with it when I make burgers.

Anyone know if Traeger has settled the lawsuit against them? They were selling oak pellets that were flavored with oils like”hickory” and mesquite. Who all here buys traeger brand pellets thinking the wood they bought was actually the wood/flavor advertised? Instead you cooked cancer oil.

It looks like it was dismissed, only because the ones who filed the suit can not prove any losses. Seems pretty shady, not a fan of any big box store pellet grills.

I thought the Traeger felt a little flimsy. I bought a Pit Boss and haven't looked back.

Good call. I think most guys buy a Traeger because Rogan told them to

I bought the Grilla Grills Alpha because of this dumb thread. Another expensive purchase because I was bored and clicked on a new thread ...

I am happy with the grill so far. I use it several times per week. Got a pizza stone and make pies about once per week. Smoked backstrap was the best I have ever had.
I bought the Grilla based on their construction (or at least because their marketing focuses on the grill's construction). I don't need wifi or blue-tooth on my grill, but a double walled barrel is nice to have as I grill year round. The only negative I have is that the lowest temp setting is 180 degrees and I would like it a little lower for smoking salmon. But it does get to 500 degrees so pizzas take about 6-7 minutes.
