Trophyline covert

Are Trophyline saddles made in USA? I have a mission and it’s stamped USA made but I can’t find info on the saddles.

The saddles are not made in the USA.

Received the Covert Lite (and Ambush) today.

Initial thoughts:

1) My hunting season is almost over so thorough testing and evaluation will unfortunately have to wait until 2021. Who buys a saddle at the end, huh?

2) I like the buckles. The waist buckle is a little finicky to release, but otherwise pretty slick. I really like the leg buckles. I never minded the Kite style mechanism, but these are uber easy to use.

3) The webbing material seems a little stiff to me. Perhaps it will soften with age and use, but my Kite had much more supple webbing that was easier to work with. Also, the belt is ridiculously long. I'm no skinny guy and I can't believe how much extra there is. I'll probably trim and burn the ends. There also seems to be excessive room around the legs (the main chassis, not the leg straps). It almost makes me wonder if I bought the wrong size. I'm 6' 215 and bought the L/XL. When I modestly snug the leg straps I feel "rubbing" in the crotch that doesn't seem like will be comfortable when walking. Don't remember that sensation on my Kite.

4) I like the adjustable bridge, though I wish it was a touch longer so I could comfortably throw it over my shoulders on the walk in.

5) Stitching seems a little haphazard. I'm sure it's fine but it doesn't appear quite as refined as my Kite. Add that to the stiff feel of the webbing and it creates a somewhat "cheap" feel. I don't mean that as harsh as it sounds. The saddle seems tough and fully capable. The mesh seems like quality stuff.

6) Bags, ropes, and biners are nice. Quality kit there.

7) The lineman loops are on the small side. They are plenty workable, but nothing fancy with no bright colors, or reflective stitching or other add-ons that other manufacturers have added. They sit nicely far forward for easy access.

Overall, on just an initial reaction, I like it. My favorite part is that it is fully openable and can be put on like a belt. No stepping through straps or bridges, or slipping it over your head. Everything feels in the right place, and this reinforces my suspicion that I prefer a single panel saddle to my double panel sling. Time will tell on the hanging comfort and quality questions. I do think that if my old Kite had these buckles that would be a winner. I also wonder if a pleated saddle such as the Cruzr XC would be preferable.

The Mission looks bomb proof and is exactly as all have said. Sturdy, well built, heavy but comfortable. Pairs with mini sticks nicely, just working out securing them efficiently. It's nice that you can buy all 3 main components, saddle, climbing system, and platform all at one place. Especially for newbies.

My covert came in. I ordered it because I thought the end to end length between lineman’s belt loops (L/XL) was longer than the distance on kestrel flex. My shoulder arthritis and cold weather requires more length.

When I checked them against each other, the LB end to end distance were the same. That said, the end to end for the bridge loops were longer on the covert than the flex.

I think I misunderstood someone here with regard to the length before purchasing.

I will need to return. Since I am going to return, I am not going to try wearing / using it.

I did notice one area the stitching was not as nice as the kestrel. The connectors are nice, a little heavier than the ADF.

Unfortunately it won’t work for me.

But the mission platform, that is nice! And that is staying with me for sure. Rock solid, easy to attach and extra room.

Pic shows same distance.

The new ambush pro had longer end to end for LB loops and a better. IMO, LB loop. Unfortunately, for me, the bridge length on the ambush pro is too short and makes it prone to giving me hip pinch.

Man I’m sorry I gave you bridge loops to bridge loops, I misread your question. That was my fault. You said LB to LB. I apologize ....

As for the long waist belt, that was intentional. This way no one is left out so to speak. Cut it to your desired length and melt the ends.

I have a covert and I've got about 15 hunts on it. I really like this saddle. The waist belt and leg straps are long but I just trimmed them down to where I want them. The cobra buckles on the leg straps are tiny and out of the way. Plenty of molle all the way around and I like how the bridge loops are larger than usual. This gets rid of hip pinch for those that suffer from it.
