Bowmar nose button

For years we used to use a painted brass nock set instead of a peep sight. You could do the same to make yourself a nose button just add shrink wrap around it or even a small piece of vet wrap. You could also use one of the rubber "eliminator buttons" many of us used to use before D loops were around to cushion your nock from the top of your mechanical release aide jaws.
My dad was doing that on his recurves probably 30 years ago. Seems like one of those bowjax trimmed down would work too or some dyneema fishing line/serving thread.

I have a nose button on both of my bows and love them, although the bowmars certainly aren't my favorite and they keep getting in more trouble including a recent Iowa citation. The point of the device is that it is made with 360 degree projections which your nose feels only the very point of, not the whole device, giving you much more sensitivity and repeatability than a kisser, brass knock, piece of rubber, whatever. The key is in the points that stick out equally at all angles ensure that you get the same micro touch on the VERY sensitive point of your nose regardless of string rotation. It is so much more specific that a kisser and would be hard to replicate when they are so readily available

You can see the projections on Levi there.

Also, if Levi Morgan putting them on all of his bows and shooting them in every competition isn't a good endorsement, I don't know what is.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up Levi Morgan but I apreciate the clarification.
He won the world 3d archery championships 11x so far, national championship 48 times, and was named shooter of the year (measured by performance at tournaments all year long) 13 times (12 consecutive) competing against the best archers in the world.

In short, he is one of the most accomplished professional compound archers in history

I live under a rock.

I tied on a bit of D-loop material with what I call a millers knot. moved it to where I thought a nose button should be, and served it it just enough to hold it. I am replacing my strings in February, I will either have one installed if the shop has them or install them myself after the string is replaced. My cheap skate option worked well.

I'll take what is useful there.

One of my biggest complaints about our current condition of society as a whole is the inability to associate with anyone who has done anything(singular) they don't agree with or support. If I don't fully agree with someone I can still learn from them. A wise man once said when asked about eating whole catfish, "how to you eat fish with the bones still in?" he replied, "it's simple.. I eat the fish and split out the bones"
