Hickory Creek Koolaid

This shot with the mini was a full pass through. I hit her low and went through the front of the liver. I tracked her sooner than I wanted and should have last night since we had a chance of a little snow overnight and I could see a river of blood in the snow. I jumped her and backed out. It was still an easy track to her bed this morning.

I still feel awkward with any crossbow in my saddle. I'm most comfortable shooting with the mini on the right side of the tree but it's still awkward. I have a few mods in mind that might make me more comfortable so we'll see.

So my goal was to move the trigger assembly rearward to make it shoot more like a rifle. The idea was that it would get my right elbow back rather than forward where it interfere's with my bridge when I try to shoot on the left side. It was a good idea in theory but there is a slot for the trigger assembly on the main post that doesn't exist further back. I'd either have to cut one in and then deal with adapting bolts, or DIY a new main post. I'll have to think about if I want to pursue it further at this point.

You can move it rearward as long as you have bolt holes to fasten the front trigger to the tube. You will have to slot the tube, as you said, and have to shorten the linkage rod and thread it. Be sure that you cut off the correct end of the linkage rod. the front threads are Left Hand thread and the rear are Right hand.

If I slot the tube I'm sure I can make it work. I picked up a fully threaded rod from home depot so short of putting the slot in place and making it work with the existing bolt holes I can completely revert it back as designed.

Ok guys, several problems solved for me. The vintage kwikee high rise bracket finally showed up after taking over a month to float around the usps buildings of the east coast. This is a home run for me. I can use rhe stirrup, and ir raises it enough when I use a 4 arrow quiver it doesn't hit my trigger finger when resting it on the side of the frame like a rifle. Win win.

Any new updates? Any new users? Any new reviews?

I'm still on the fence about getting one of these babies. I wish there was someone nearby who had one that I could try...

I killed 2 public land bucks with mine this season. I have a real crush on this bow.

I killed 7 with mine last year.

I just watched your video and was wondering if there is a threat of "crossbow thumb"... Either when shooting normally or when shooting left-handed as you showed.

Can your wife draw the bow (I refrained from using the word cock to prevent others from giggling) when it's set to 150lb max power?

I also noticed the butt stock on yours appears to be missing. Did you take it off to shave weight?

Here's the video for the curious:

I highly doubt my wife could...draw...the bow. She can't even pull a 40lb compound. Just hasn't shot and developed the muscle and technique.

As far as crossbow thumb, it'd be pretty hard to screw up as long as you have each hand on the pistol grips.

The buttstock is missing because there's 0 need for it. It might have shaved 3 or 4 ounces, but mainly it just allowed me to aim it without shouldering it, which allows me to shoot it in some goofy positions. Goofy shots are one of the main reasons I bought the bow.

If it helps, my daughter (26yrs old) can't draw hers. She needs to have someone do it for her before she heads out. I'm going to have to either invest in one of the drawing devices or DIY something up for her.

EDIT: She may be strong enough, it's possible the string digging into her fingers is as likely the issue as anything.

Why did you take off the shoulder stock? To save 4 ounces?
