Hawk Helium modification

I used my new Hawk Helium one time and knew something had to be modified to change the slipperiness of the platform edges and surface.
Using some 3/8" diameter rope, I did a wrap of the edges. I ran out of that size and had to finish it with 5/16" rope, but it will make it quiet from any metal noise and add some traction to the edges. I'll be taking it for a "test drive" tomorrow.

Let me know how that works. Here is mine, added a new bracket and painted with non-slip truck bed paint. I was on it briefly and bracket is a big improvement for locking it to the tree.

Your mods to the bracket looks good.
The factory bracket needs to be concave, not convex. It needs to fit to the tree on all sides. I may look for a different replacement bracket from another company that will work on my platform.

I place an order with Tethrd, for one of their brackets and it should be here in a few days. :)
A good company, decent price for the bracket and reasonable shipping.

I added the bracket from Tethrd and it works great. Actually, it worked better after I got rid of the Hawk cinch strap and used one of the Muddy Aerolite straps, which are heavier duty straps. I tried the platform out, yesterday evening and it works great. It should after 3 modifications from the factory configuration.
Switched the bracket, changed the cinch strap and rope wrapped the platform edges/crossbars.
