And if it don’t turn out the way you want, RUN (don’t walk) to overwatch and purchase one from the man himself right away!that is so awesome that your willing to share this for us diy'ers! I'm working on my transformer clone this week and this definately makes it easier. Thanks alot!!
If EWO could pick up a few more buckles, webbing, and cordura they would have everything you need (and I would buy from them), but there probably isn’t a large enough market for it among us saddle folks.Hear you on the need to stitch. I feel that all the time but have been busy with other pressing things right now. I agree we need a 1 stop shop. Maybe @JCLINE84 will do it. LOL. I have enough stuff to do maybe 5 more saddles depending on style and I’m always needing more items. I will slowly stock pile stuff this summer that’s for sure. Can’t wait to see your finished saddle
^^^^this. EWO needs a "Saddle Supply" section for sure.I’d love it if EWO could pull it off. If they can make it happen I’m sure they will. I know I would have been willing to pay for the required mark up on materials to save on the shipping from having to order from multiple places.
One stop shopping for diy there is rocky woods and eastern woods outdoors. Both have pretty much all you need except sewing machines. So I am held up for now waiting on some thicker thread for the main suspension, new buckles for the belt, possible buckles for detachable leg loops, new webbing for the belt, plastic buckles for the adjusters, and triglides for the excess webbing on the belt. I wish there was a one stop shop for everything I need for my builds to save on shipping but I ended up buying from 3 online stores. Everything shipped Fedex so it should be here by Thursday. I got a itch to stitch so I may make a second set of panels so I can assemble two of these saddles when I get going on it. I have a little bit of up front cost on the material for the build so if I can make 2-4 saddles from what I have now it would be worth it to me.
Yea, so not a one stop shop, at least not for the transformer. HahaOne stop shopping for diy there is rocky woods and eastern woods outdoors. Both have pretty much all you need except sewing machines.
I actually made a matching dog collar and leash out of the leftover material from @Red Beard saddle1.5” belt came in and got some stuff to make a few dog collars while I was at it. Just realized that one of the printed webbing designs we picked looks awfully familiar @Red Beard @JCLINE84 haha!

Now you HAVE to use 1.75” webbing for your safety belt it’s better than 1.5 anywayMan, I can't catch a break. I am quickly going in the red on this project. I bought ten yards (360 inches) for the suspension (1.75" webbing). As some of you know I put the d-ring on backward so i was gonna cut and redo the suspension. so 360"-158"=202". 202" of webbing great no problem just enough to make the suspension... OH WAIT! I cut 60" of 1.75" because I thought thats what size belt I was suppose to use. Turns out it's 1.5". So, 202"-60'= 142" WHICH < 158" so I am delayed again. I wish I woulda checked two days ago before I bought the 1.5" so I coulda saved some money on shipping and bought at the same time. I guess this is about how I suspected my first project to go.
I did get my v-92 thread, the 1.5" belt, all my adjustment buckles etc. in. I'm just waiting on my 1.5" main belt buckle and i guess some more 1.75" webbing to continue.
Thats what I use on my saddle builds. Is you HAVE to use 1.75” webbing for your safety belt it’s better than 1.5 anyway
i dont have enough 1.75" to make a saddleThats what I use on my saddle builds.
Dang bro you can't catch a breakTragedy has struck again. Not my day… this thing broke while I was adjusting tension for the new thread and the whole assembly popped out.View attachment 48305
