So I know alot of people make their own modifications and all that. I was wondering if $50 for a singer sewing machine was a good deal or not? I have a photo attached of what it looks like for its condition, thanks.

That looks like a 3/4 model travel machine. I think you can get a better machine for $50 if you watch FB marketplace or craigslist.

The OP is a mobile hunter... :tonguewink:

You trade that cast iron model for aluminum or plastic and you can drop serious weight.

Now, a serious response. You can do better price wise. Facebook marketplace and Craig’s list. Just search “sewing machine”. Those ads are from people who don’t know the value of what they are selling.

Singer 15-91 would be my first choice. I paid $40 and $60 for mine, both came with cabinets. One had a slew of accessories. Learn what they look like.

Below is part one of a five part series. Look for a 15-91 first, or a 15-90 second.

That is a vibrating shuttle machine. It does vibrate a lot. A Singer 15 or clone would be a better choice.
