CLASSIFIED SCAMMERS

Just wanted to let anybody else that fell for the fake always89 scam know how I was able to get Paypal to cancel the payment, even though the money was sent F&F. I opened a dispute to get a case# and then emailed them three screen shots. They were a screen shot of the classified listing that is now labeled a scam, a screen shot of the PM where the scammer gave me the email address to send the money, and the attached screenshot were the scammer was gloating in this thread. It's a little bit of a pain because you have to email the screenshots to service@paypal.com with your case# in the subject line, then you have to call them and speak to someone who has to go fish your email out of the server because, even thought that's the email they told me to send the information to, no one actually monitors that email.

As soon as the person I was speaking to at PP viewed the screenshots she cancelled the payment and refunded my money. Looks like the scammers arrogance and gloating in this thread got the best of him. Just wanted to let others know in case it helps them resolve their case.

What was you funding source? PP funds or a bank/card?

Just an update to my previous Tapatalk reply, it does appear I was logged out when I changed passwords and it did ask and allow me to authenticate using the Tapatalk app.

Well a go back to my go back, it appears Tapatalk is no longer offering a free version at all? Anyone know? It’s not letting me get out of this or use the forum now.E1E8E064-0995-4720-87DB-52D82403D04F.png

@gcr0003 - My iPhone doesn't bring up the 2-step verification window in the Tapatalk app, nor the option to "Send and Trust 30 days". I'm guessing you've got an Android phone. Is that the case? If so, it would appear that the Android Tapatalk app has capabilities not available in the iPhone Tapatalk app.

If I sign in to Saddlehunter.com through the iPhone Tapatalk app while 2-step verification is disabled on my Saddlehunter.com account, it lets me in and will keep me logged in to Saddlehunter.com through Tapatalk even after I re-enable the 2-step verification on my desktop computer. But it only lasts for a few hours ... then Tapatalk loses the connection with Saddlehunter.com and can't re-establish it while 2-step verification is enabled. Thus far, I haven't been able to figure out how to keep the connection to Saddlehunter.com indefinitely active through Tapatalk when I re-enable 2-step verification. For now, I've just relegated myself to using Saddlehunter.com via the iPhone web browser (Safari) when I want to read or respond from my iPhone.

For what it's worth, I had purchased a lifetime membership to Tapatalk over a year ago for $30. Even with that membership, I'm having the problems I described above. I don't know if Tapatalk still offers a free version, and I can't really tell since my iPhone knows I have a lifetime Tapatalk membership now. (It doesn't show me the other options now.)

I’m on iPhone. Who knows. I don’t actually use Tapatalk much if ever.

@phatkaw, @Jmarzey ,

I should try that but it would cost me more than 90 bucks worth of aggravation!

I'm glad you got your money back!
