Hey new to the forum and saddle hunting. Looking at the aquisto double step 20 inch steps. Anyone running with these ? How many sticks do you use ? I was going to get the 3 pack with 20 inch cable aiders and use qmsteel to attach to the tree. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks !

The 20 niche steps just came out very recently this off season so I don't think anyone but a few people have them yet. That being said I do have the 17 inch double steps and they are awesome. I use days chains and they work fine. Like any other sticks you'll want to silence them. Main reason I bought them was the packability. If your an experienced hunter you'll probably be fine with 3 because you'll know when and where to set up. If your new to the game you'll probably want 4 sticks. The higher in the tree you go the more room for error you can get away with.

The older LWCG has been reviewed here, click on the magnifying glass in upper right hand corner-

How are you running the daisys?

Appreciate the info thanks. I've been hunting for over 25 years but new to saddle setups so it'll be a learning curve for the best I feel.

Mine came today. Really like them. Need sound deadening and interested to see how to use them without a buckle strap as I failed with some quick tinkering

My buddy is making me amsteel daisy chains ! Like the ultimate stick method from double steps

How long did the sticks take to come in ? I've tried to contact them multiple times with no luck

Same here, i thought the longer sticks would have a lower button. I bailed on the original ones didnt like thier stability

I only played with them in a tree for 20min or so. With a buckle strap- I had no movement or flex on five different (barked and species) trees

Incredibly disappointed to see they didn't lower the mounting button at all.

well the flex on the 20” actually makes them more stable on the tree. I guess it increases pressure on the bottom standoff.

weird… I assumed they would be terrible and the 14s would be the better ones because of the button Location. Not the case… the 14s are about the same feel as the 17s

Thank you. I’ve owned a lot of sticks (lwcg minis-though not the double 17s but had tried them, lw, Hawk, Tethrd ones, shikar and others) and kicking out is not a concern or likely event with these as ive seen

Got to play more including using some roast chains in the rope mod manner. Winner.

They’re glued to the tree

I had the 17 inch originals. I sold them. The rope mod was the way to go with the stick. Stack ability put the stick at the top of the list. There is no better double stick for packing and transport. There quite and no fiddle factor which I loved.

The bad is the attachment point was too high for the 17’s and I got kick out on the stick several times. Two of the times I was in the stand before I noticed it. I looked down and the bottom of the stick would be over 12 inches off the tree. It’s not a good feeling 20 ft off the ground and you have to step on a stick that your hope goes back in place against the tree.

That being said they came out with some 14 inch sticks an I want to play with them.

The 14” are just like the 17”. Gotta use a cam buckle or truckers hitch.

The 20” have a bit of flex to them which puts pressure on the bottom stand-off bolts and they stick like glue to the tree.
