Lwcg double steps

So you're suggesting the 20in long versions are the most solid? I thought I read the shorter 14in ones were the most solid.

The most solid out of the 3 lwcg steps ? but how about comparing them to other sticks like a 20 beast?. Believe me i want a reason to buy these but the 17 left a bad taste in my mouth as far as tree stability enough so that even thier packability wasnt enough. Only going by the above pic but that seems like a lot of stick below the attachment point

Nothing is going to grip the tree like a 20” beast IMO… but it comes with a trade off. Not the greatest foot room and not nearly as compact to pack in. Mini beast are still my favorite doublestep stick. LWCG compacts are my favorite for packability and foot room but not being doublestep they probably will collect dust.

I would go 14 inch would be most solid and 20’ would be worse than 17. The kick out seek to be cause by the amsteel to tight after weight was applied to the stick.

I have beast in minis and longs. And grip to the tree nothing comes close. But pack ability sucks with them. I have had muddy pros and shikars. I have lwcg gear minis. I kept them. They work good. Just more time adjusting the brackets and foot pegs. I like a fixed double stick better. I wanted to like the 17 inch doubles but after like the third time they kicked out I was like wow. And kept using them for the rest of the season. Any stick I have had I have used for full hunting season of hunting. So they was out on atleast 20 different trees of different size and texture. I am thinking logically the 14 inch doubles will be more stable. But looks like they want be back in stock until middle of October. Maybe.

I used amsteal rope mod on the tabs. Took the buttons off.
I would highly recommend taking a carbide burr in the Dremmel tool to those tabs and all the edges the amsteel come into contact with as there is no chamfer whatever on the edges. I took me about an hour to make four of them acceptable for use. This is my only complaint with these sticks as otherwise they are the Berries.

I stealthed stripped them thick. I no longer have the sticks. But yea the sharpness of the edges of the stick is also a issue.

Ok so your saying that area will be super sharp ? You think for the money they would take care of this ? I've called them 6 times and left voice-mails and yet no call back. I'm saying right now very disappointed in their customer service ..

Email them. I usually get a reply within a day or two. Longest I have waited was 3 days but they did get me a answer.

Tried that as well before I called them a few times.. I mainly want to know what the lead time means .. if it says 3 weeks does that mean I'll have them in 3 weeks ? Or longer than 3 weeks.

My assumption is 3 weeks until they get it. If they have to put it together it maybe another week before you get your hands on it.

That's what I was worried about haha .. ok ill just keep using the novix minis until they come in.. have some deer to chase starting next weekend so

Or a file. Did the same to mine.

Just got the call back from lwcg. I asked them about the edges and they say they will all be deburred before leaving the warehouse. Hope this is true ! She also said they don't recommend using amsteel daisy chains. Any thoughts on this ? Like I said my buddy made me some ultimate attachment straps like the ones from doublesteps.
