Show Me Your Scored Buck

I hunt public lands here in Arkansas and the guys around here call the 120" class deer 160"s so it wasnt until I actually started putting a tape to them that I started seeing how bad off things were.
Hahaha I’ve hunted down in central arkansas enough to know exactly what you’re talking about.

It wasn’t until I came to north missouri I really learned about how deer scores work and I’ve met guys who can get within a few inches just from seeing a buck.

2-10 for me and was low on every one I was wrong on. Only missed by the next size as well. I never score deer ever. If they are legal I'll kill them LOL. Good to have a reference though. That test was pretty cool!

Hahaha. It was cold for a southern boy!

And yes I did kill him in my Carhartts, while sitting in a homemade permanent stand that only had me about 10 feet off the ground. It's amazing what a buck will ignore when he's got love on his mind.

The buck on the right was the only one I had officially taped. He green scored 132 7/8 and dressed at 194lbs. He was a bow kill at high noon during the rut.

The buck to the left I estimate in the mid to high 120's

The other buck on the very left I don't think makes 120 but he was a heavy deer too. All local bucks in NY.

The last buck has 10 scoreable points and I shot him just because he was so knarly. I don't think he breaks 75 pts. but I'm no expert. What say you on the other bucks??? IMG_3627.jpg

I never had this old Ohio buck ‘officially’ scored. We guessed him over 5 years old, probably 6 or 7. My buddy scored him at 147 but he has a drop tine so I think it is a deduction? I don’t know much about scoring, i just like shooting big ones! Sorry I do not know the weight.

The cool thing with this story, is my buddy’s dad (middle buck), shot his within an hour of mine the same morning. They are both 11 points but his scored 2 inches better than mine at 149. Awesome morning that I will remember for the rest of my life!

3/10 here and was a mix of just over or just under but to be honest the only measurement I've ever been concerned with bucks I've encountered is the yardage.
Great bucks posted here guys, thanks for sharing!

You need to specify gross or net score, which can have big differences if not symmetric. Most people talk in gross score - nets are for fish. Net score is the gross score minus deductions. Deductions are comparing the left and right side measurements. Every inch of difference for each measurement is a deduction.

Euro mount grossed lower 140
Shoulder mount grossed upper 140
Euro mount netted mid 130
Shoulder mount netted upper 120
The forks on g2’s are deductions when calculating net plus the right fork has another 1” kicker that’s a deduction and the G3’s are almost 2” different.
I guess what I’m saying is nets are definitely for fishing.

I don't care what the score says, those double forks are awesome. I'm after a buck like that right now and he's got to be 4.5 or 5.5 years but I haven't a trail cam pic of him in his full compliment. The last pics of him I had were early July.

I've been more impressed by the deer posted in this thread (by score) than the examples from the quiz. I'm also even less convinced of the usefulness of scoring racks.
