Live from the saddle 2021

So far this morning, two does, two bucks. One of the bucks was hot on the tail of a doe, and looked an awful lot the 10 pointer I’ve been after all season. Good morning here in southwest PA, they’re on their feet after a slow weekend.

Happy Veterans Day to all. Especially my fellow vets. Hope you are either enjoying time with family or in the woods. Wife approved a whole day hunt. Hmmm.....l might be TOO close to a trail. But we'll see!

That looks like an area of PRSP I used to try to scout in when I didn't know anything beginning of last season. Not that I know much now, but all I found then was a horseshoe, hope you do better, you're likely in a totally different spot.

Haha, i would send you a pin if it wasn't for the fact that someone else showed me this location. Its in Liberty Reservoir is all i can say. Damnit. A jogger just ran by!

In another note. Proof that 1sticking can be done with harder tree. Youtubers always record using a tree that l would of picked for my climber!

So this tree just blew over. Base is about 20 yards from me. I'm taking that as my queue to get down for a bit.

I went out up on to the ridge where I hunt behind my house a couple years ago...the perfectly alive 20+ in maple I had preset(and hunted out of) during bow season, was laying on the ground opening weekend of rifle.... scared the crap out of me, I ground hunted that day...

Need advices. Had to call it a day due to other responsibilities. Found this on way out. Is it too old or even last season? Im still not that experience reading sign. Or can l target this location tomorrow? Or any reason that l have not realized that it would not be a good idea? Because if not, I'm coming back to this rub tomorrow.

Interested in hearing from more seasoned hunters but that looks old to me. Someone recently said something about not hunting it unless it's literally wet/has sap dripping from it/you see deer making it. I'd definitely mark the location but not sure if I would set up on only that. Fresh poop or something else nearby? Then yes. (but I'm not super sure I know what I'm talking about yet)

Looks like last yr to me. For sure not very recent. If you can’t find any of the bark shavings on the ground it’s too old
