Had it and sold it?

Won’t try it because X?

Sits in the garage because…

Hopefully my options cover it, if not let me know and I’ll try and add them. Either way - I always blow rainbows everywhere about the hybrid. I’d like to see some good quality complaints and arguments against using it. If it seems compelling, I may offer a video detailing how to overcome those issues, avoid them, or admit defeat.

so here we go, tell me why the hybrid sucks.

Ok I’ve owned & sold 2 …… I really like the JX3 hybrid. Most comfortable option. My biggest nock was weight & having to run a separate pack when switching to & from. I like the feel of a traditional saddle better. My decision to move on from my JX3 was purely in similar comfort found in my dryad hammock attached to my kite. I can have the best of both worlds. My current setup when compared to the JX3 is about 2 notches less comfortable (say 8/10) but the bulk & weight is gone. That’s completely personal preference & I can make an argument that my larger pack setup now negates some of those weight savings. But I’m more streamlined & almost as comfortable. Plus having owned both I don’t have to wonder if the grass is greener on the other side.( they’re both pretty green) plus John is a good dude & who’s to say I don’t buy another one in the future to help support our locals!

One of my biggest reasons it hangs in the garage is having to switch out of my pack to use it. The other is I have Gen 1 and am not sold on the plastic buckles. I’m currently talking with them about getting an upgraded buckle package.

It’s a lazy boy hanging from a rope. You can’t deny it’s comfort level. What I don’t like is mostly the triglides on every strap. Adjusting anything is a pain. It never mad it into the woods with me. Want to buy a backup?LOL

Added an option for ya

Made in China. lol

I'm new to it but keeping mine. Feel pretty confident in it for gun season, but I could see archery guys having a bit of a learning curve.

I have two saddles already. One single panel and a two panel sling. I don't get out there enough to justify a 3rd. In fact, I'm missing this entire season.

It looks interesting and maybe I will consider it in the future. However, I'm not sure how it would work for SRT, which is my primary climbing method now.

Crowd sourcing is dumb. Hold my beer while I crowd source...

Option added.

I've never owned one but tried a friends'. I wouldn't say it sucks, it just doesn't solve a problem for me. I like to stand/lean most of the time and a small treestand + a saddle covers that problem for me. I guess that falls under restricting movement? If I prefered sitting I would think it's a pretty good route.

I voted straps and ropes and such but that’s not exactly what I mean. It’s still my primary system, and to be fair, I have the older version with plastic buckles. Because I want to be a bit safer I run an RC harness under it. Whenever I get to the tree I do have to take it off and do some thinking about what I’m about to do, especially in late season. I’ve also always battled “squashing” everything when I sandwich the pack inside it. I don’t wear a pack up because I want the leg loops and I don’t want the seat and fork hanging down by my legs. So by the time I’m one sticking up I also have two gear ropes trailing down to the ground. I’m also baffled as to how to make the most of all the molle options along the side straps, since they fold all over the place through the process. It’s a good system, I use it, but I have to be more mindful than, say, throwing a climber around a tree.

You can lean in it. It’s different feel but can be done.

I was going to add "no way to keep seat up without leg loops". But I ran out of poll options. So I'll just address this one outright. Take a piece of paracord about 30" long and tie a 2" loop in it. Girth hitch that loop around fork. Take another small piece of paracord and make up a prussic knot and install on the piece of cord hanging from fork. Attach some type of hook or clip onto the prussic. Fold seat up, run cord over shoulder to sternum strap. Grab prussic with two fingers and pull cord through until seat is folded up where you want it, and hook is on sternum strap. Prussic grabs, seat stays up, leg loops free. Should cost you less than a dollar.

I've only spent a few minutes in one and to was obviously very comfortable but, I 'felt' too restricted to shoot my Trad bow. I am sure with a little time and effort I could have figured out how to shoot from it but, I have never left a tree early because I was uncomfortable so I decided it solved a problem I didn't have.

I was interested in trying one but the recent price hike is a definite con. I understand it's a business but you can get into a traditional saddle setup of for about half of that if you shop around. The weight is kind of a wash when you consider that you don't need a platform but it's as heavy as my XOP Vanish and you still need to factor in the weight of the climbing method.

If you want to send me one to try out I’ll tell you why I don’t like it.

Appreciate it, I used to have a piece of cord running over and clipped to one of the shoulder strap D rings. Will revisit.

I will say this, at least for shots between about 6:30 and 11:30, it’s a very stable platform to launch an accurate arrow from, my bows 34” ATA, zero issues.

I voted too expensive. And, that's not a knock on this particular one. I believe every saddle currently retail sold is too expensive for what they are. I'll stick to my sitdrag until the prices are in line with the materials they're made from. I won't hold my breath though.

I’m sure I’ll eventually pull the trigger once I try one, I suspect it helps limit moving around to get comfortable at height. However you keep harping on me that I’m not supposed to climb a tree to begin with unless I see a deer after going on a walkabout with my overkill MR pop up. I just drop a under 2lb. Recon sling into, in case I happen upon Deer hiding, sleeping, eating , mating or otherwise moving in daylight.
Also Im torn between a Waldrop and a Hybrid for the $.

I just got done packing up my vehicle to head to Wisconsin tomorrow for a gun hunt. My JX3 will be left in my garage. The reason it is being left behind is because I don't like how it fits with my cold weather gear. It just feels too tight and my movement feels too limited with my cold weather stuff. Add to this the shoulder issue I have that limits my ability to reach behind me and it is staying home. My modified tree suit is going instead. That just works with my cold weather gear.

I am not getting rid of my JX3 though as I love it for warmer weather hunts, it just isn't right for this hunt.
