So I got this Plano behemoth, and am wanting to get a better (smaller) case, but wondering if you all have any recommendations? A hard case is preferred, and for compact cases like this one https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/pla...f-euEZmefQc1jn1_QaQaAitZEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds do you typically have to take your stabilizers or quivers off? (I know the stock image shows them attached... But not sure if I believe that?)

i have a plano square case for parallel limb bows and an off brand one shaped like the one you linked for my back up bow

soft shell cases are thinner but less protective

i don't know if the skb or pelican makes thin ones, but they are spendy and i won't buy one until i fly with my bow

i remove my quiver and stabilizer to case my bow

bee stinger makes a nice stabilizer quick disconnect

i would never transport my bow with arrows with broadheads attached inside the bow case, whether in the quiver or the case's arrow grabbers, i'm too worried about a string being cut, etc

these cases could be thinner if did not include width to house the arrows i do not put inside anyways, i find it better to use a separate arrow case or tube

I have an SKB for parallel limb bows. TSA approved so you can fly with it. You can’t have a quiver on or a stabilizer on in mine. I had a bee stinger hunter 8.6 combo and I barely could keep the Quick detach part on my bow. I ended up being able to turn it so it fit. Then just Quick disconnect the stabilizers off, no biggy. Their expensive but so are bows. I really like the case used it all season. Buy once cry once or whatever they say. Also shouldn’t be an issue but if you sell your current bow you’ll want to check and see if you case fits your next bow. As far as compact, I don’t know how to answer that. I’m sure you can find the dimensions online. I feel like it’s huge but it’s worth the space to me.

This is the one I have currently, https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/plano-bow-guard-se-44-single-bow-case-100017698-1?ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=Shop|CAB|TopPerformers|Hunting&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-eeMBhCpARIsAAZfxZA4NlSC38l9WPL1PCuvqdliyRuCpsO8LdE3d8a8qW6fxW-Iu1SPUaMaAk3-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds which feels like it's big enough to fit a different case inside.

Those skb cases look awesome, but a bit more than I was thinking of spending. I do believe in buy once cry once though, particularly in cases like this where I am replacing a poor purchase. Lol "cases like this"

i think all the hard shell cases are pretty big

probably common sense, but if your bow gets wet, then keep it out of the case until it is dry

this year i only hunted 30 minutes or less from the house and didn't have to pack my bow away to transport with other stuff, so i just rigged up 2 long nite ize gear ties to hold the bow in the back seat so that if i had to brake hard the bow wouldn't go flying

I've been using a rugid waterproof float case for 3 seasons. Love that thing. I beat the crap out of it in & out of the boat & trucks. It's held up way beyond my expectations. I can load it up & it floats & hold waterproof even when I dunk it under.

Like em so much I'm about to order em for shotguns & rifles. Highly recommend!

I have the case that the OP linked. Yes, you have to take the quiver off, but if the stabilizer is short, it can be left on. Interestingly, my Elite Energy 35 will not fit in it, and my Elite Remedy fits just barely.

I have the case you linked too. As @docost99 said if you have a short stab it’ll fit but anything longer you’ll have to remove it. I have a QD on mine so it’s a none issue. I have a kwikee quiver and can leave it on but I always take it off. You can secure arrows into the included holders but I always leave mine in my quiver. The case comes with three Velcro straps, upper and lower for the upper and lower riser and one in the string area. I usually just tuck my stab in with the strings and it stays put. I have beaten on that case like it owes me lunch money and it’s like meh, whatever. Thrown it in the back of my truck, left it on the topper and it slid off, fell 10 feet off my shelves in my garage onto the floor and it’s fine. It’s not super slim but it’s transportable. I can slide it in my sequoia on the floor between my drivers seat and second row seat just fine. Only thing I don’t like about it, wish I had some more straps inside for securing stuff but that ls a nitpick. For my usage which is transport and protection from my house to the field it works perfect. I don’t know that I would fly with it because the lock eyelet is just plastic and you could cut right through that in about 2 seconds. But for the price point it’s great. I shoot a bowtech realm ss which has a 32” ata so you’ve got plenty of room inside for activities.

Years ago I had bow cases. Then I realized all I used them for was to our my bow in when done shooting, and put that in a closet. I have a cabinet that I keep my bows in now. When I go places with my bow I either lay it on the back seat, or put it in seat back bow carrier. If I were air traveling with my bow I would have a hard case. Otherwise, I don’t see the need for a case.

That’s said, soft cases … Elevate makes some nice ones.

Hard case … save your money and go to Harbor Freight and buy a Pelican style case and cut the foam yourself.

Mike
