Mature buck he ain't, but he was a ground kill at 8 paces with the hickory creek. Plus, I figured no sense in not running up the score. That wouldn't be the Alabama way. ;)
He's gotta cool palmation thing kinda going for him though. Cool buck!!!

Well last night was my last deer hunt of the season. I had no intentions of even hunting late season so the three times I was out was a blessing. Wednesday I saw 3 deer cross a clearing really close to the truck. I was sitting in a sea of deer tracks but the next evening I told myself I would sit near that clearing despite how I felt sitting that close to the truck (80 yards). Like clockwork right at 5pm here they come. The big nanny was way in front and she walked just like I had hoped. I drew back when she got behind some brush and she spotted me. I literally ran this scenario in my mind when I got up in the tree. Not sure if it was my height as I could only go roughly 12' but regardless she got me. Never knew what I was and slowly walked away. It really was the best ending to a great year. She left me wanting more and very excited for 2022-2023. @goody94 thanks for the EDP!1.jpg2.png.jpg

Well Tuesday the 25th was my last day this year. I stopped by a friend's house outside Eufaula, Al for and afternoon and morning set. I saw a young 8 point in the afternoon and a real big deer the next morning at 60 yards. He was on a mission and not stopping.
Anyhow thanks for having me this year.
Wish I could have done better.
