New Gear Release 2022!

Well there is no convincing you if your mind is already thinking that way. But… one nice thing about the latitude platform is the push off point is in front of the pivot point so not gonna fold up on you weighting the back of the platform. This happens with the predators and is especially bad with the lone wolf custom gear platforms where there is lots of real estate behind the pivot.

Yup besides the camming on the ambush the real estate behind the pivot was the most annoying thing in the world. Pressure in the wrong spot and you were testing your tether.

Never know it may have traction on the production model. I think all we have seen is prototypes so far. Guess we will see. When the actual production version ships. Wouldn't be hard to add some traction to it. Never know might be some mods In the future for the x wing. See how I like it. Not like I am afraid to modify something.

That could be. Could. Time will tell, and I guess that's a hang up for me. CAD weights, prototype pictures, invisible sticks.

But I do see solid design and strong materials too.

I see OOAL coating one in @enkriss's future, lol.

I can't wait to see what you make of it.

There's some features that stand out on the Latitude platforms for sure, but there's aspects of the others that I prefer as well. Like traction, as has been pointed out as something the Latitude platforms appear to lack.

There's no ringer, imo.

I have criticisms of them all...and they're all still pretty darn good (to me) too.

The differences are small, but small differences can be big to some people.

Even as novel as the X-wing appears, the WE Battlement is in many ways more similar than not.

Meh. Point of diminishing returns and indifferentiation. They’re all similarly sized and functioning platforms. Highly unlikely that one will result in a different outcome on any given hunt or throughout the course of an entire season.

Does anyone have information on the Latitude sticks? I don’t see anything on their website. I’m signed up for new gear notifications. And I did get notified yesterday about the platform pre order

Imitation and innovation. Some consumers hate it. Some love it. Timber Ninja has some amazing carbon fiber sticks. He also has new standoffs coming out because he listens to feedback. Latitude is now coming out with carbon sticks. They are just taking pre order money to make them. Either way, it will be another option in the industry. Teathrd will drop their new ultralight stick as well, and we will all figure out which one we like for our own reasons just like the saddle itself. Overall though, it appears the weight savings innovation is driving the entire process. I see this as a win for everyone but at the cost of more money being spent per ounce of weight savings. If it were me, I would analyze how far you really walk each hunt with your gear versus the price of carbon everything. Meaning, maybe, that extra $30 a month should go to the gym and not to saving five ounces on a platform you use fifty times or so a year.

Timber Ninjas are just some carbon fiber tubing ordered from dragon plate, standard stand offs and plastic steps to be cheap and still charge $130-140 each and heavy for what they are. More like 1.5lbs. I would rather have beast sticks any day.

It’s a new material these latitude sticks are made from. This is something new. Not the same old redone. They have been working on and testing them for quite some time now and seem to think they have something special. They have been extremely tight lipped.

I enjoy my hunting gear, not the gym lol.
It’s not the fact that most can’t carry the weight of heavier gear, its that we all enjoyed using awesome gear. Being in great physical shape is obviously better for your health… but I like using awesome gear that makes my hunt more enjoyable.
To me it’s the entire hunt I enjoy, from the time I leave the truck till the Kifaru frame hits the tailgate with the deer meat, hide and hopefully antlers lol , every product I use is a part of my hunt and makes memories .
If we all wanted a workout we would be in a gym instead of in a tree.

Yeah if you’re walking 100 yards or less just get a Summit climber. You’ll be more comfortable and spend less time pondering over newer/lighter equipment that will make, at most, a marginal difference when it comes to putting meat in the freezer. You’ll also have more money in your bank account.

Dragging a buck out is the best workout I get all year.

I don't see fitness and lightweight gear as mutually exclusive. Even when I was in great shape, it was tough to hunt where I wanted, how I wanted, because of gear limitations. Now that I'm a bit older, I'm happy to spend a few bucks to be able to do it easier.

And if I'm going to spend a few bucks, I'm going to be a bit discerning to pick features that give me advantages I want.

At the same time, I agree with @Zero One Actual that the train is moving so fast that it's a jump on board crowd and there is risk there that doesn't make a whole lot of sense sometimes.

Being debating on getting a Kifaru frame and pack, is it really worth the $?

I dont know. I got mine a few weeks ago. I loaded it up with most of my hunting gear. When I picked it up I thought it was way too heavy. When I put it on my back, I said where did the weight go?

No…. Just picked up a Kuiu on sale for 1/3 the price of a kifaru. Their last price increase priced them out of justified purchase. $1000 for a pack? That’s friggin insanity. Oh and it’s a 12 week wait on kifaru at the moment.

I love my kuiu venture and my seek outside pack as well but I really think I am going to need to get a kifaru. Yea its pricey but like they always say, you pay for what you get. Or something like that.

Not that I'm disagreeing...but Kifaru has 25% off sales just as often if not more than Kuiu. So, apples to apples, it's a slightly different story. Not to mention your 1/3 less includes an additional 15% code that you had, so someone trying to get a similar deal should set themself up for that kind of bargain.

A better discussion is which is better, why, and under what circumstances if that is a factor.
