unless one of the ingenious folks on here has found a work around.if there’s no separate legs on the IWOM, wouldn’t the whale tail have to pierce it to contact the tree?
Sold my soul, and joining the JX3 train. It should be here Tuesday.
Super excited as my main issue with saddle hunting (my cruzr especially) wasnt the hip pinch, but pressure on either my feet or the knees. I'm really hoping it will help allow me to be more still while sitting and hopefully be more successful.
One advantage of the JX 3. You can sit very still for a very long time. Deer see movement.
Try sitting very still in a regular saddle for a very long time.
Hip pinch and knee pain will eventually make you fidget

I've had an intention to make this old steel climber into a saddle climbing platform for a while, cutting around the points in the lines, reinforcing with cross braces if needed, but I haven't touched it, and quite honestly can't give it away. It sat on my curb for 2 weeks and noone snagged it.Took the idea for adapting the old Tree Lounger foot pieces from this thread
But designed it so the width would ride flush with the JX3 seat. Just got it finished up yesterday and got the holes drilled, but excited to “one stick” with it.
Got the hybrid out for some practice/shooting today.
Decided against the cranford rope steps.
My beast sticks are just so simple and quiet & they conveniently pack perfect horizontally on the hybrid.

Full length Beast Sticks are one of the nicer packing sticks with the JX3. Are you hunting off the top step then?
I primarily one stick now, but prior to that with even a small pack and an early season jacket stashed, I would get enough bulk between the seat bottom and seat / pack back ‘sandwich’ to then lay my 3 sticks across the top (pointy stuff facing away from my head) and lash em down with a combination of the two long straps, and one additional one I made from webbing. So when secured you’re looking at a closed JX3 with a little pack and jacket (or late season layers) stashed inside and 3 sticks laying horizontally across the top. It looks tidy. How’s everyone packing their sticks? I have the Novix minis and they fit fine wedged between the seat and frame pack but I’m kind of worried about the standoffs poking a hole in the seat. I may just use my sling and carry them or hang them off the fork.
I am stealing the bow carrying technique from the beginning of this video. Looks like a piece of paracord with a carabiner connected to the shoulder strap.
… if you do that mounting across the back might become an option without as much worry about poking the seat, because they’d be poking the pad.
You know, yes, maybe it’s time for me to take those brackets off and just squash it… and I’ve lost track, how are you getting up the tree these days?I removed my Turkey seat stand-off brackets on my gen 1. I moved the belt to the inside of the frame.
I fold my seat up, and stash anything I carry behind the seat. I don’t carry sticks really, but when I did, they were fine. Your jacket, flipping them around, your foam pad, there’s lots of ways to keep them from contacting the mesh. Having said that, the stuff is bullet proof.
Everything packs better to me now that those brackets are gone and I put it behind the seat.
Anyone film using the mount next to the adjustment knob? I wondered if there’s a way to rig up my phone or a GoPro to record.
