Hi all - First year hunting out of the saddle. I am a bigger fellow, and I am using the Phanton XL, Mission platform and Skeletor sticks...all good so far. Thinking of going smaller on the platform as I get more comfortable with it. I use a vertical crossbow that I bought specfically for saddle hunting. Been up in a tree for three sits now...no deer sighting, but I am liking the system. Need to find a way to cut down weight though...adding aiders to the sticks, think that'll allow me to carry three most of the time. - I hunt in both central Maryland and western Maryland...happy to be here!

Welcome! Glad to have you. Please practice using aiders a lot before using them in the field. Yes they can save you a whole stick, but consider if that extra saving is really worth the ease and comfort of a stick. Also try different combo, like only 1 multiple aider on the first stick, or single aider on all sticks. Stay safe and good luck!

Welcome! I started with a Mission as well thinking I wanted the room but quickly learned I wanted a lighter platform and didn’t need all that room

welcome...consider using a ring of steps at some point to cut weight a bit. They are more comfortable than they appear and fit in a pack nicely. Spot on about the aiders. I use 3 sticks...4 step aider on first stick and single step on 2nd stick (full size lone wolf) gets 20' no problem...def practice as mentioned....even lighter is one sticking but you need to be comfortable climbing first before you can even decide if thats an option for you.

I totally get this. I have been using an aider on the bottom stick and it has been working out well, so I think I will try 2 on the bottom, then one on the next two.

Yikes. Gots to be unloaded, in a case and preferably in the trunk when traveling in this state I believe.
