It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

I just dont see anywhere on it for them to connect.

I'd send them that pic and ask if you can trade out straps with newer ones. The hardware doesn't appear to be there to run the straps through.

Yea..its not. I thought they were all the same.

@BuffaloBill - Are those sticks on top of the JX3 after it has been closed? Is that top heavy?
YMMV I one sticked all last season… but prior to that yes I’d pack the 3-4 sticks on top of it without issue, other than I try to avoid carrying hardware right behind my head. I notice more discomfort when I have weight carried too far horizontally from my back, as you feel that weight more, pulling down at distance. This was in the case where I also had a small pack, and sometimes layers packed back there sandwiched in the seat. I could kinda feel a stack of sticks back there when packed along the lower back of the seat, I personally liked the top better.

Darn you guys!!!! I just ordered a new JX3! :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I hunted this past weekend (Colorado Elk/Bear/Deer) out of the LWCG .5. It was fine, but I think I'm ready to make the jump to the JX3 for those LONG sits by the water and wallows! Fingers Crossed!!

I bumbled into a wallow last year. Huntjng partner killed his cow near it. I’ll be set up in my hybrid over it this season. Can’t wait!

I think I found a great storage solution for myself on my jx3. Quite a while ago I had a predator and pack, the pack had a spanker elite hydration pouch on it.

it does not have backpack straps, but they could be added. It does have a molle attachment on the back, so it can be added to another pack. The pack does not have any rigidity, but it does have a hydration bladder slot, I will possibly add ¼" foam into, this will give it some rigidity. Not sure if its really needed if hung from loops on top.

A large storage area, probably about the size of a predator pack, but not as wide. Plenty of room for my ropes, steps, saw, light, and probably a sweatshirt. The smaller pocket on the front is a bit larger than a dump pouch, and has plenty of room for rangefinder, calls, windchecker, spare batteries, headlamp.

This is the exact thing I used the last 2 seasons before getting the JX3 system on my hybrid. Of course it had some special touches put on it by the man.

Biggest thing was an open pocket sewn on front of the small front pocket - good for tossing things in for easy access in the tree. Most importantly it was the same material the frame of the hybrid is wrapped in. Quieted the whole mess down a lot.

What is the max width between the frame and seat when folded? If it will allow 11 inches, my Wolf Pack will slip right in there!! Fingers Crossed!!!

that will be a similar set up to @Jay_Disarray!

Outstanding. I figured there was room from watching your videos! I’m looking forward to Monday….scheduled delivery day. Might be a LWCG .5 in the classifieds soon! :)
I wanna say… don’t get too hyped for any hunting gadget including the JX3… like anything you may not love everything about it at first, but if you keep putting reps in, the payoff comes. It’s my primary tree rig but it did take me a little while to get proficient. I could see somebody giving it a few sits and deciding it’s not for them, but I don’t think you know what’s for you before putting some time in.

Sound advice!

Who here uses the lwhc seat in conjunction with the jx3? Seems to me like they would be a good fit. The jx3 would keep your knees out of the tree and let your feet be free enough to lift.

I had a lwhc before with a soft saddle, but the problem I had was I got stuck. I would get to a spot in a tree where progress would essentially stop, and my body/mind/situation wouldn't allow me to go any further.

I just don't trust that seat as a platform. Otherwise it'd be the move.

i have used the same LWHC as my climbing method and platform for three years with my JX 3. Bought a Summitt open top to use the seat as a back up platform, but will stick with the LoneWolf for it’s lightweight and packability for as long as it lasts.5E65B181-D3D8-4F96-9857-56B771E7392E.jpeg

It's to me akin to the "my Gen1 Predator hasn't failed" narrative. Maybe your's will never fail, but there is a documented disparity that I won't accept as safe application, especially in a product not designed for that use.

With little adjustment this would be a fantastic option, and reliable.

I fully agree that it would only take a little tweaking by the manufacture for it to be perfect for this use. I always have a backup rope easily accessible and attached to my JX 3 so I can get to the ground should it ever fail.

How do you manage your feet once settled? Given that the JX3 pushes feet towards the tree, and the LWHC doesn't do well with weight towards the tree.
