Ended up seeing one good buck but to far and thick to know exactly what it was. Then had what looked like a giant 3pt come by close at last light. Probably a 6pt with a busted off G2 if I was guessing but the angle I couldn’t see if there were brows or not

Little sis hit a buck this morning. Not much blood. Quarter to with a rifle, dad said he mule kicked. I got ahold of a tracking team that I've used before and know is a great dog. Dog took a b line and bumped the deer 600 yards away. Appears she grazed the bottom of his brisket. Not a buck I've had any history or pictures of at all on the property.

Saw one deer this morning. At about 70 yards so wasn’t really in the game. I’ve seen 7 deer total this season, and 8 just this weekend so it was a good hunt. I’ve got a few more hunts in me yet so don’t count me out, but if history serves, don’t count me in either. Bring on the late season!

Update, saw him this evening after feeding cows. Running back to our property.

Happy Thanksgiving team!

I’m taking some much needed time from the deer woods to do some duck hunting here before the season closes. I’ve wanted to get into duck hunting for a while now and a buddy graciously let me tag along on Tuesday for an awesome hunt.

Get em boys!

Looking like I’ll have a couple hunts in warm weather around the house the next 7-10 days. But should be able to get away to Arkansas rut mid December. Then hopefully hunt the end of December January rut for Louisiana.

Nice works so far!

Happy thanksgiving everyone. I’m headed to in-laws for turkey but will hunt Friday after work and all day Saturday (doe day). I’ll be going back to same area as last weekend so hopefully they come through like last week.

Water update. Drillers hit the sand they were looking for at 520’ but they were unable to get it sleeved before running out of time yesterday. Hopefully they come back Friday but I’m leaning towards Monday but regardless there is progress being made.

Happy thanksgiving.

520', ouch, that's a lot of pipe. Makes me more thankful for my well. 35' with water at 7'. Its not the best water in the world but is not going to go dry either. If it does the country has big problems.

Good luck to everyone getting out this weekend. Im out on deer hunts until I head to Kansas on the 29th for there 30th gun opener. New state, new place to hunt, Im excited to see what I can find out there. Buddy has 7000 acres of farm land and 3 miles of creek. Hopefully I can turn something up.

One side of county the water is at 330ish the other is around 900. Thankful to be in the middle.

Kansas sounds awesome, let me know if you need help next season out there

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Unfortunately I'm at work tonight and tomorrow night so it'll be leftover turkey for me. And that's if there's anything left after my sons get at that bird, lol.

I did have a nice 8 point sneak in on me last week. Of course he was nose to the ground and on a mission so I gave him a mehhhp to get him to stop before he got into the wood line. He stopped but there were a few small limbs covering his crease so I aimed at a small open area just a bit higher than usual but I was high enough above him that the shot angle would still carry the arrow through his boiler room and give me a low exit. Well I'm not sure if the arrow caught a limb, he ducked or a combination of both but either way he was able to walk away wondering what just happened. I actually chuckled to myself because this has been one of those seasons where if something could go wrong it did. I realized at that moment that Mr Murphy has been riding shotgun with me the entire season! Haha!!

I've got all of next week off so I'll be out there paying my dues and putting in the effort because quitters never win and winners never quit!
Congrats to all of you successful folks and if anyone else is in the same boat as me just remember that a poor season can turn into the greatest season ever in just 15 seconds...

Good Luck!!

Happy Thanksgiving team! Made it down to WV this past Monday for their opener and whacked a small teenage 8 point. That wraps up my season, freezer is full. Rifle sesson here starts Saturday I'll be trying to get some other guys on deer and always scouting for next year.

^^^ Honestly, I wish my year was more like that.
This year I had waayyy less time to hunt than normal 'cause of my new job (which was my old job) and I did what I had to do and tagged-out right away (in two states so far). I don't like doing that!
I usually wanna hunt and chase the biggest/oldest buck I can find and go after him...
Saturday is the first day of gun season here in Pa and I don't even have a 'hit list' buck to go after. I'm kinda depressed. I did see a 150" 10pt up in the mountains during bear season last week but that's a 2 hour drive to Chase one deer in miles and miles worth of National Forest.
This year is weird...
