Tethrd pack

Kaitlyn Maus just gave a pretty good breakdown of the new pack on her Instagram story. It’s a lot nicer than I was expecting.

Got a link?

It looks like a cool pack, at first glance. Clearly inspired by Kifaru gear (a good thing). I think the side pockets with water bottle holders are a nice touch. The (I assume) laminated PALS panels on the pack look excellent for attaching gear as desired. I'm a bit skeptical of the single vertical rows of stitching holding them down. I'm sure they're fine, but I like redundancy.

It was in her “story” on Instagram. They expire after 24 hours so it’s probably gone now

Boys need a place to be around only boys. Where they can make fun of each other, wrastle, and accidentally catch a glimpse of each other’s junk. Oh, and say unsavory things about women.

I don’t think this is that place.

And 2TC can fit in a pocket. Different strokes.
Absolutely! I need to spend more time in this off-season with 2tc. I think it definitely has its place. For me 2tc is more labor intensive and a little slower then my single stick but I do want to get better at it.As far as the pack goes the one they had at TAC this year didn't look as big as the one in the videos. Could just be me or maybe they tweaked it a little.

Okay so, I now have to reexamine a lot of my initial take. Right off the bat though, I could see myself purchasing this pack. I would like to see a side by side with Trophyline CAYS (?) pack and maybe 2-3 of the more popular packs on here at similar price range, then maybe some budget options from like Ozark Trail, Cabela’s, F&S. It’ll happen en masse long before I consider buying it.
I will also say that Greg and Carl did a pretty decent job on that video and I take back what I said about them not really thinking about some of the most critical things from an efficiency standpoint. they seem to have genuinely put their hearts and brains into this one. Stick packing—show us some examples! Jury’s still out on that. Packability looks extremely modular and it does indeed seem “bombproof” lol. No offense to that girl in the first video, she was trying and I get it; but maybe that IG Story shouldn’t have been allowed to occur prior to this video? Felt kinda like an Ariel Helwani/Brock Lesnar leak (Google it…). Like, damn girl give us a few more days to edit the official first take before you hit the staircase with our new **** and a less than desirable packing job. We know they have eyes on comments sections. She didn’t really do them a ton of favors other than popularity IMO.
I want you gearheads to get your hands on them asap so I have some reviews to kill time between my kid’s diaper changings.
overall, I have gone from underwhelmed to somewhat impressed. Not bad Tethrd.

If I didn’t prefer making my own gear, and was in an area that favored dragging or carting deer out, I think I’d be buying this one. Tethrd is delivering what people have been asking for in this pack—American-made premium pack with a size and features tailored to whitetail hunting. I wish them all the best with their sales.

Nice design @ckossuth!

I can answer any particular questions you might have regarding the pack.

So I really like the look and utility of this pack... would work well down south but I don't think I could justify buying it in Southern MN when I'd need the ability to hold additional clothing by late October... I already have a pop up 28 and not sure I could justify 3-400$ for the month to month and a half before I bring in the big layers... for early season when I don't need much, I feel like one of those 30 dollar packs from fleet farm would win out.

After watching this video (I was already a little "meh" on the pack just from a lack of packing efficiency with sticks/platform which is one of the main things I need a pack), I'm still not into it and likely will not pursue this. It does look cool, and well made...

Also being a public land hunter in WI - this pack will be too small for other things that I keep in my pack. I'm glad that they acknowledged this in the video as well.

I am curious on the price point.

I'm genuinely curious and asking in good faith.... How so?
Edit: I had this same question when Greg and Carl stated the same in their video.

Is it the climate? Whenever I hunt in a cold, wintry climate, I just lash the layers to the outside of my bag because carrying a bag large enough to hold all that bulk gets a bit ridiculous (IMO).

Or just the gear you like to pack?

Looks like a good marriage between Shape Charge & Bandit. I would have liked to seen “stick slots” on the front corners to accommodate 2 sticks on the sides. Overall looks like a solid pack & would be on my radar if I didn’t need a frame pack.

What is your stick solution(s)? Lol I’m a broken record.
Also, will screw-in steps pop a hole in it?
Lashing straps, sticks are all different to an extent that it is difficult to create a dedicated stick attachment method that works for all sticks, thus it just becomes frustrating.
