Happy Thanksgiving 2022 and traditions

Our tradition was always hunting the morning and then eating way too much in the afternoon. My wife has to work today and I didn’t want my girls to be alone this am on Turkey Day. It will be the first Thanksgiving I’ve ever not been in the woods since legally able to hunt. But my Dad is gone now, my buddy and his wife are going to their daughters so he’s not able to hunt. To me, Thanksgiving is like opening day where the more the merrier. But I’ve had a great season so far so I’m not complaining a bit. I’ve been blessed more than I deserve and I give thanks to God for that. Happy Thanksgiving fellow saddle hunters and your families.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Our family tradition is to make our annual trip to the Native American museum of history in Washington DC, get some learning and have Native American lunch at the museum.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Food and particularly cooking food is important to everyone in our family (my side especially) at all times of year, but on Thanksgiving every person has a hand in cooking some part of the meal. Even the youngest gets to put their stamp on a dish in some way, and as we get older it becomes really fun to see old standby dishes and new ideas hit the table year by year. Today my 6YO is going to get to help me wield the Victorinox slicing knife on the venison loin that she helped me season (you know, big girl $h!+. NBD). My 3YO is going to help with stirring pots, putting appetizers out, and even the 1mo-old is going to help on cookie duty.

Leaving Massachusetts tonight and driving to Disney World with my 3 kids, wife and mother in law. Maybe I should bring my saddle gear in case I decide to bail out of the car somewhere on 95. If anyone sees a hitch hiking saddle hunter, pick a brother up and point him towards a tree!!

Today, I’m thankful for this post.

That’s a hell of a drive from VA, wouldn’t want to do it from any further north. And 95 on a holiday, No thanks!!!! That’s what planes are made for!

Happy Thanksgiving saddle hunters and to all the people who support us. I'm thankful for my health, and I'm thankful for the wonderful family and friends I've been blessed with, and I'm thankful to live in the greatest country in the world, guarded by the bravest fighting men and women in the world. There is an "American Dream", and I'm living it. God is good. I already started cooking this morning and plan to destroy a bunch of food today.

Amen Brother!!!

The last 7 years my tradition has been trying to spend time with my family and my wife's family. I'm leaving "lunch" early with her family to get to "dinner" late at mine today. Everybody gets what they say they wanted ("We just want to see our boy/girl on thanksgiving") but nobody's happy ("Why are you rushing off, "Well, turkey's cold now.")

What I'm thankful for is that next Thanksgiving I'll have leverage in the form of a crotch goblin. You wanna see the flesh potato? Cool. We'll be here all day. Not traveling with 5 month old puke dispenser.

Happy Thanksgiving saddle-hunters! Tomorrow, Black Friday is my most successful day deer hunting of the 90+ day season in Michigan. Anyway, eat too much today, watch the LIONS lose, again.
