I am curious what people think of this camo pattern I am experimenting with. It is based on the clouded leopard. It's an open pattern that really breaks up your outline so that you do not look like a blob in the tree. I opened a shopify shop to sell some of my prototypes. I had the fabric custom made from polartec fleece and it currently takes me about a day to make one since I make them by hand. Would you wear one? Thoughts? It looks very effective to me. I find open patterns like this the very best for deer hunting especially from an elevated position. So many camo patterns are dark with small features that diminish quickly and just look like a dark blob. Your pattern seems to almost completely remove that shadow effect of darker camo patterns.

Would like to see ASAT, Predator, and others in that same tree position for comparison. They all would likely be similar. Definitely well place for marketing purposes with the extra front and back cover versus open with only a tree behind it.

It's the only tree in my yard that I can get up into :) I am going to do some test runs with deer on public land to see their reaction.

No worries and that was not a shot at your camo either, I like the concept and love to see various patterns in the same spot for comparison. Definitely better already than the Realteee and Mossy Oak patterns!

Intrigued by the pattern but honestly not a fan of the color palette. Would like to see it done with shades of grays and shades of greens around OD. What you have there would be awesome for ground hunting in or around CRP in the midwest or other grassy habitats. Doesnt mean it wont work just fine in an elevated setup as is, just not sure of the appeal for deer hunters. As you are probably aware appeal trumps effectiveness when it comes to sales.

I thought of doing this in greens and browns but every other camo does that. I think what is important for breaking up your shape is having a lot of contrast between the darks and lights. What makes the yellows and tans work in nature, and in camos like ASAT,IMHO, is that they are very light but not white. (In one of my hoodies the light color comes from a photo of a tree trunk in my yard. ) As we deer hunters know, our prey can pick white off a mile away. The thing about the clouded leopard pattern, which I think is the best of the leopards, is that it’s not random but very carefully designed to look like branches, each casting a shadow in the same direction with middle tones in the spaces between. I still may try greens or browns but I’m going to experiment some more with the tans on deer. I will post the results here when I see how they react.

Yeah me either buddy. I'm genuinely curious to find out if it glows or not. These guys will tell you straight up, I'd be the first to wear a leopard print if it doesn't glow. ;)

I checked this under UV and it doesn’t glow. It’s not your typical leopard print, I had the fabric custom made and my design was made using photos of actual CL’s. Anyway, who doesn’t look good in a leopard print?

Thanks to all the volunteers who offered to test my new camo hoodies! :p Unfortunately, I need a few actual customers before I can afford to give them away free. Besides, actual clouded leopards have done all my testing for me ;)
