How high is high enough with a saddle?

I got picked off at about 20' yesterday. I saw the deer coming and did not budge. I do believe they were the ones I spooked earlier. It was a tree with very little cover, the only one I could get into that covered the rubs I wanted to cover. Pretty sure they would have picked me off in a climber...

Who’s generally content with their hunting setups?

Yup,I am good. Bought nothing new for this season and don't see myself doing that in the near future. How long before you guys would replace a saddle?

    Max range

Shooting at bedded deer is a real gamble. I shot my first with the bow while it was bedded, from 20 yds and hit exactly where i aimed but the body position is almost impossible to read right. I got a pass through and broke the does foot on exit but also got guts and lung. It was a long track job...

    Full Rut Fest!

I think I would work with an outfitter for my first trip. Too many things to work out and I don't have a group of friends I could rope into going.

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I totally agree on your point of the importance of being able to draw in the cold after sitting still for hours. When I started bowhunting 10 years ago I had a really hard time pulling my then 55# bow back after shivering for a while in the stand. I was actually going to climb down but some...

How did you cook venison today?

Yesterday I grilled up three different kinds of venison sausage I made for a friend's birthday get together at our house. The day before I threw some backstrap on a campfire after it burned down to coals. I still have a lot of shanks and a couple of necks in my freezer, gotta cook those up soon...

    Shot in the Dark!?!

Are they easier to shoot in the dark than a vertical bow? asking for a friend that couldn't even see the peep or the sight...

One shot, everyone knows the rules!

That is a heart shot on a live deer for sure.

One shot, everyone knows the rules!

Ok,first 4 shots. Shot a broadhead, then bareshaft and two fletched at 27. I aimed for the black spot on the right. I have shot very little this summer, but I guess muscle memory is ok.

How much to buy your bow?

I only have one bow and am not selling it this close to the season. I would yell the guy in the parking lot he should have thought of getting a bow sooner, lol.
